The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (also known under the acronym TCEB) is a public organization established by a Royal Decree that was published in the Royal Gazette on September 18, 2002. TCEB became operational in 2004 and has been in operation since that point in time.

The organization's main objective is to promote travel to Thailand by way of showcasing it as a destination for events such as meetings, incentive travel, conventions, and exhibitions. The TCEB refers to this objective as "MICE".

In 2011 TCEB launched a campaign entitled The Next Best Shows. The campaign would span an estimated five year time period and seeks to raise the amount of visitors and revenue before the campaign's scheduled end in 2014.

In 2013, TCEB launched THAILAND CONNECT Campaign. The campaign will focus on three pillars: diversity of Thai destinations, unrivalled business opportunities, and the high quality of Thailand’s MICE professionals. It is accompanied by a number of specific promotional packages that will extend financial support to MICE events and delegates attending MICE events in Thailand, depending on their country of origin and duration

TCEB’s mission is two fold:

  1. To augment Thailand’s MICE industry’s contribution to the Thai economy; and
  2. To develop the fundamentals and best practices of Thailand’s MICE industry in order to seriously compete in the international arena for MICE business.

Strategy
TCEB has a strategic, 5-year master plan that targets and envisions the continued growth and development of creative and rewarding business events in Thailand. The main goals are to increase revenues and establish Thailand as Asia's business events hub by the year 2016.
Implementation involves three main thrusts – Win, Promote and Develop as follow: to attract and WIN more bids for international business functions in Thailand; to PROMOTE Thailand as an ideal business destination; and to DEVELOP Thailand’s potential for unique, truly memorable events. More specifically, this involves consolidating existing markets while looking outward and targeting new international markets. It means establishing global awareness so that Thailand becomes a “Top of Mind” MICE destination in Asia. Finally, it involves strengthening the domestic MICE market and establishing Thai destinations as clear choices for international business events.

Roles
TCEB’s rebranding and reconfiguration, currently underway, will focus on Asia and ASEAN+6 markets. This goes hand in hand with the recent surge in investment with regard to new convention venues, hotels, cultural attractions, and mass transit systems. All this is destined to drive growth, create new economic value, and increase revenues.
The strategy is based on five key Drivers of Growth: as a Strategic Business Partner; as a Thought Leader and Solution Provider to stimulate creative leadership; as a Business Connector, facilitating new partnerships; and lastly as a MICE Capabilities Developer, to strengthen human resource capacity and raise the calibre of MICE professionals in Thailand in line with global expectations.

Service
TCEB acts as a promotion centre, orchestrating efforts being undertaken by Thai government and local public sector parties, and is a source for counseling services. All of this is provided with the objective of promoting business events in Thailand.
