Richard Harrow is a fictional character on the television series Boardwalk Empire played by the actor Jack Huston.

Background

Harrow was a sharpshooter in the US army during World War I. Whilst there he received an injury which resulted in the loss of his eye, upper jaw and most of the cheek bone on the left side of his face. Due to these injuries he endured heavy scarring. Whilst in public Harrow wears a mask that was molded to match his face. After the war he returned to Wisconsin where his twin sister, Emma, cared for him whilst his wounds healed. Once he was able to care for himself he left to live in Chicago where, in an army hospital, he meets Jimmy Darmody. After this meeting he was invited to stay with him and his family as well as offering Harrow a job with his bootlegging team as Richard proves to be a good asset to Jimmy for his skills as a marksman and enforcer. Although Richard Harrow is a very gifted killer, he is a troubled soul which will become a brooding inner problem for him through out the series as he goes deeper into the world of organized crime.
