Lieutenant General Raheel Sharif (Urdu/Template:Lang-pnb) is four star army officer in Pakistan Army. Raheel Sharif is the 15th Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan Army. He was nominated for this post by Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Personal life

Sharif was born on the 16th of June, 1956 in Quetta to a family of military background. He is the younger brother of Major Shabbir Sharif who died fighting in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and received the Nishan-e-Haider. Despite sharing a common surname, he is not related to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He is married and has three children, which include two sons and a daughter.
