Mariaceleste de Martino deleted, why?

I see you deleted "Mariaceleste de Martino" as "Unambiguous advertising or promotion". I really can't see anything promotional at all about the article. Can you explain why you saw it as promotional? And why do you consider Mariaceleste de Martino not "notable" as she is a well-known journalist and writer. she has a website, she's on the internet in many press reviews etc... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ordine dei giornalisti (talkcontribs) 20:15, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

The "calendar event" is not personal data or opinion, it's a fact, there are articles written on that issue. and it's a fact that she won her battle about freedom of opinion and expression. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ordine dei giornalisti (talkcontribs) 22:48, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of article on Acharya Tulsi:

I am surprised to note deletion of the article on Acharya Tulsi. He was one of the most prominent of the Jain acharyas of 20th century.

If there was a copyright violation here, I would think it either did not affect all revisions of the article, or was a backwards copyvio, given that the Misplaced Pages article's history goes back to 2003, whereas the page it was tagged as a copyvio of only appears to go back to 2010, per the Wayback Machine. Note, Malaiya, that an article can be deleted at any time if it is is purely promotional, and that decision is really unaffected by whether the topic deserves an article. In other words, the fact that a topic is notable and warrants a proper writeup, does not mean we should not delete an article on that worthy topic where the content is improper. Since this had a long history, though, it should only have been deleted if it was always promotional. I have not looked to see if that was the case.

Anyway, I'm not really sure why you brought this up at my talk page (with the same text as above), as I never made an edit to this article and was not involved in the deletion but I don't think discussion should take place in three places (here, my talk page and at Talk:Mahāprajña), so I will not respond at my talk page and since Jim is the deleting admin, this is a better place.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 00:04, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

I'm prepared to accept that the copyright infringement may be more apparent than real, but there are still major issues. Whether he is notable, or not, the article is unacceptable because
  • it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Virtually the whole of the text is referenced to a single source, which is clearly a hagiography rather than a neutral source.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: unparalleled barefoot marches, wide contact with masses, heroic courage, remarkable spiritual development, prodigious creative writings and nurtured hundreds of dedicated workers... renounced his physical comforts and dedicated his life to the noble cause of the well-being of the people... gave a new interpretation of religion, tried to filled the gap between science and spirituality by putting forward constructive programm of human regeneration... He was influential in the development of Acharya Mahapragya, Acharya Mahashraman, Sadhvi Kanakprabha... visualized in him the seeds of genius, manly courage and great fortune. It was in a sudden and dramatic way that both guru and disciple were seized with a feeling of oneness... — and on and on in the same gushing tone.
  • There is no attempt to write an encyclopaedia article here, just to praise this guy to the heavens.

Thanks, Jimfbleak.
I, and potentially other editors, can help create an appropriate article. But I think that cannot be done without you permitting it to be recreated.
I think someone had tagged both Acharya Tulsi and Mahāprajña (master and disciple), for speedy delete. Fuhghettaboutit concluded that for Mahāprajñait was backwards copyvio. However Acharya Tulsi was already deleted by the time I had noticed it.
I agree with your comment about the tone of the article. However I would have to say that the facts mentioned are correct and well documented in the literature and news reports. I don't think I was a contributor to the article, at least not recently, but can help reshape the article and insert references, if you like.

Phylogeny of frog deleted as G12?

You deleted Phylogeny of frog with the edit summary "G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement: Essay, original research, no independent sources". Uhhh, forgive me if I'm wrong, but "Essay, original research, no independent sources" are NOT part of G12 and are not criteria for speedy deletion.-- Brainy J ~~ (talk) 16:36, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

a confederacy of coincidences

Jimfbleak, Thank you for the sandbox on my one day up and coming set of articles around covert government harassment of social media enabled mini-broadcasters that criticize powerful and arguably corrupt institutions like the NSA, CIA and FBI among others. Please take note of the fact that a user named Yambaram's posted an article called Targeted_Individuals at around the same date and time that I posted mine and was flagged for deletion and deleted in similar time frames. This all happened with in 24 hours of Edward Snowden's leak about surveillance in video games. Snowden's video game leak is only the tip of the iceberg. I am aware of at least some of the extent to which the NSA and other law enforcement and military organizations closely working with the NSA leverage video games, social media and other online experiences to not only spy but to also harass, manipulate, gang stalk, and leverage psychological warfare in the form of experimental psychodrama against targeted individuals. I still agree with you that wikipedia is not the place to process these claims. However the terminology of these claims like 'targeted individual' need to be defined somewhere credible. So I will endeavor to do that. I just wanted you know that there is a confederacy of amazing coincidences around my post on Dec 7th as well as with Yambaram's post. You should google Yambaram's and look at the facebook image of a headless man holding an m16 and a presumably Yambaram with his children. Who knows if he is the same guy but it is interesting. At what point do academics make an experiment that might flush out such a conspiracy by creating a false target such as myself and then seeing if I get targeted. . . the false target doesn't have to do anything illegal, just have demographic reach and promote documentaries that are critical of the FBI or some other government agency as the ACLU has already demonstrated that they will dedicate resources to nobody's who promote these kinds of documentaries (http://aclu-co.org/sites/default/files/imce/faxtoFisher_1999.pdf) - Peaceful.civil.disobedience (talk) 11:04, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Could your review Barings history section, please?

Hi Jim, not sure if you remember me but some time ago you gave me a chance to update the Barings history section. Must say it's taken me a while, actually it's quite embarrassing how long it's taken me to review and update it. But it's done now, ready for your review. Could you let mek now if I could get the project page back up? Many thanks Kt1502 (talk) 17:36, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

OVERWERK

Hello Jim, Hope you are well. I was wondering why you have deleted OVERWERK's page. He is a credible artist, who has a huge legion of fans. His latest ep was a Bandcamp Top Seller. He has also had write ups by top entertainment sites like Vibe Magazine, Dancing Astronaut, Earmilk, Pulse Radio and more. Are you able to please help me fix this page, so that it will not be deleted again?

Deletion of Tygve Svindland

Eagle Feather Law

Hello. I'm responding to your comment about my edits on the bald eagle law article. I apologize for editing the language without mentioning my reason on the edit box. I understand how you feel and just wanted you to know that I'm fine with the changes you made. While I personally don't like the Native American (N.A.) moniker for the Indians (I prefer the American Indian terminology), it's understandably tricky to put a name to this specific group of people without upsetting people. Thank you for letting me know and again, I'll just let you and other people decide what to do. Jay (talk) 09:48, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

No problem, Jim. Thanks for letting me know about the pov pusher people. Jay (talk) 18:13, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

Regent College, Dhaka

Hi hi

I would like to create a wikipage for Regent College, Dhaka - a popular British College in Dhaka Bangladesh of which I am principal. (I have been asked to create the page from parents and students). I simply used much of the material about the college from our website but I gather that Wiki rejects on those grounds. Fair enough. I would like to write an original blurb for the page and re-submit. Is that okay? Suggestions/recommendations gratefully accepted!

Warm regards William Westgate Principal

Rewriting article on Acharya Tulsi:

I, and potentially other wikipedia editors would be willing to write a proper article on Acharya Tulsi, with proper citations (see above). However we would need your consent.

Jimfbleak - Tambok0599

Hi there, Mr.Jim! Well, well, well, could you explain why you delete that TOKYO COP? It has evidences and has regulations from the OFFICIAL SITE. And yes, don't delete and instead, use the Articles for deletion to prove that we're just having the discussion of the game. Likewise, don't bother to erase my work, ok? Then do you understand what I'm saying? So, please have a feedback if you have a comment on what's on your mind today. Hello Jimfbleak, I note that on 3rd December you deleted Lifestart Foundation from the list of NGO's operating in Vietnam. What information do you need to reinstate Lifestart? We have been operating in Hoi An, Vietnam for the past 13 years and are a registered charity in Australia & Vietnam.
