Greetings. I added the link to the video "My Life as a Turkey" which you removed from ], alleging it to be "spam". I have no connection whatsoever with the video or any of the artists, though I did watch it online today for the first time. I checked to see if the video or the author of the book and video was notable and there seems to be good grounds for regarding the video as notable, since it won an Emmy award. So I created a page: ]. As someone who lives around turkeys but is not an ornithologist I found this video fascinating and informative. Plus it's notable. I believe this gives good grounds for restoring it as an external link. I don't see why you say it wasn't available, I had not trouble watching it online. Please explain here or on ] if you still believe a link is inappropriate. Otherwise, let's restore it. Thanks. -- ] (]) 08:07, 5 January 2014 (UTC) Greetings. :Hello Jim, thanks for your thoughtful response over at my talk page. It's disturbing to know that you aren't able to view that video - I didn't know that sort of thing happened, broken down by country like that (I am in US). Anyway, sounds like that's just a fact of life, and I see it reduces the interest of an external link. However, I do want to add two points of fact: The book '']'' is not about domestic turkeys - it is completely about wild turkeys. Therefore a link would seem ''more'' appropriate, not less, at the wild turkey article than at a domestic turkey article.<br> Second, permit me to point out that the ] article is an ''encyclopedia'' article, not a biology article (please beware of ]). If it is not covered elsewhere in a fork, perhaps the article should be expanded to cover wild turkeys in media, or something like that (the film itself is arguably a form of ethology, although, as you say, it might not be regarded as an RS for that purpose). Or if there is not enough material for a new section on turkeys in media, then the "see also" would be an appropriate place for such a link. As an award-winning film, this material is appropriate for inclusion in such coverage. And such coverage is part of the mission of an ''encyclopedia''. Please consider these issues, and respond appropriately. Thank you and have a nice day. -- ] (]) 19:38, 5 January 2014 (UTC) :Hello Jim, thanks for your thoughtful response over at my talk page. ::PS Two additional comments: 1) When I made my first comment above, I had seen that you deleted something from Wild Turkey / See also section, and assumed it was this video, but it was something else. Glad you agree it's OK to leave in See also section (that was my major thrust above - but I had jumped to conclusions!); 2) Yes my first insertion of the external link was misphrased, and placed too great emphasis on book; anyway, that's moot, now, since video can't be viewed everywhere. I am content with pages at present. Please have a pleasant week. -- ] (]) 20:11, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Article of Alfa Intitute of Biomedical Sciences

Hi Jimfbleak, I am ELENAMPAL. I'm writting to you in order to ask you what should I fix in the article on the Alfa Institute of Biomedical Sciences. I'm a student at the National Technical University of Athens, in Greece, and shortly I have started my intership at Alfa Institute of Biomedical Sciences (AIBS)and decided to write an article about it because I'm impressed with their work and their organization. What do you suggest me to improve in my article because it is my first time writing in Misplaced Pages?

Thank you in advance, ELENAMPAL — Preceding unsigned comment added by ELENAMPAL (talkcontribs) 10:39, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

speedy reasons

The article on Jeston Whitacre was marked for speedy by User:RealDealBillMcNeal with the reasons G3, A1, A7, G1, A3, G2, G11. Looking at it, the only one that really applies is A7. He marked Social reserch forum with G3, G11, A1, A7, G1, A3. Again, the only one that applies is A7. This user has been marking multiple articles with multiple reasons mostly irrelevant in this manner--see his talk page. It might help him learn if when we delete the ones that do need to be deleted, like this one, we removed the inapplicable reason.

That's what the deleting admina did for Jessica Tauro and Dale murphy jr. DGG ( talk ) 15:40, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

Kino Beats Article

Hi Mr. Jim! I would like to write the article on a music Producer named Kino Beats. He is from my area but is recognized by various mainstream artists on a national scale. I attempted to complete the article a while ago but it was deleted. What do I need to do in order to have this page added? I have music credits and can most likely obtain any other information you may need in order for the article to be submitted. I appreciate your efforts in keeping wikipedia as accurate and informative as possible. Best, Ravenn Rmcdo011 (talk) 19:08, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

The Female Struggle

The Female Struggle Hi, I am not sure why the page on The Female Struggle was deleted. This is a neutral article on this new book and does not contain any promotional material. Can this be restored please? Atrivedi008 (talk) 18:22, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Suburban League

The league is very notable the amount of high school talent to come out of the league is amazing. Jim Zorn, Ben Howland, Jason Kapono, James Harden, the O'Bannon Brothers, Marcelo Balboa. Plus the Moore League has its own page — Preceding unsigned comment added by MikeMcD1982 (talkcontribs) 21:27, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Pete Van Dyk

Hi Jim,

This is with regard to the page for Pete Van Dyk that you deleted. I am Pete Van Dyk and I am the creator and host of "Live From the Dutch Hall with Pete Van Dyk" which is a podcast which is hosted by Podbean and available on iTunes. One of my listeners created the Misplaced Pages page for me based on a conversation I had in my last podcast. I understand you removed it because my accomplishments listed are seen as "insignificant". I respectfully disagree. I would ask that the page be reinstated or please tell me what needs to happen to reinstate the page. If there is nothing you are willing to do to reinstate, I would ask that you provide me with a copy of the information so that I can use it for future reference.

Thanks Pete Van Dyk https://en.wikipedia.org/User:Dutchhall

Abattoir Fermé

Dear Jimfbleak, thanks for reviewing but after some thought I can't really understand why the page for Abattoir Fermé was marked for speedy deletion by Vanjaganie and consequently deleted by you. You state 'self-promotion' and 'similar content as available on the artist's website' as reasons, but I'd like to bring out the following counter-arguments:

- this English article is an abridged version of what is also available on the subject on the Belgian Wiki and which had been contributed and redacted by several other Wikipedians other than just myself. I tried to only keep the most (internationally) relevant info for this version in order to contribute a short, factual, introductory article on a theatre company that is regularly a guest on internationally known festivals and venues.

- Some content bears indeed resemblance to what the artist write about theirselves on their own page, but I tried to be critical about that: the tone of the article is in my opinion not self-promotional at all, rather neutral. For example: naming the key members and stating that said theatre company is active in diverse sub-genres (puppet theatre, dance, visual theatre etc.) is hardly being promotional, but rather a factual statement, no? Would like to hear your thoughts.

I'm rather new to Wiki but try to do my best in my field of expertise and am therefore open for any input! For example, what would you suggest to improve the article on Abattoir Fermé and where? If sources (obviously other than the artists themselves) are needed, where exactly would citation be neededd and which specific sections of the article need improvement? Thanks!

PS - I also sent Vanjagenie the same questions and arguments.

Wan't spam

Greetings. I added the link to the video "My Life as a Turkey" which you removed from Wild Turkey, alleging it to be "spam". I have no connection whatsoever with the video or any of the artists, though I did watch it online today for the first time. I checked to see if the video or the author of the book and video was notable and there seems to be good grounds for regarding the video as notable, since it won an Emmy award. So I created a page: My Life as a Turkey. As someone who lives around turkeys but is not an ornithologist I found this video fascinating and informative. Plus it's notable. I believe this gives good grounds for restoring it as an external link. I don't see why you say it wasn't available, I had not trouble watching it online. Please explain here or on Talk:Wild Turkey if you still believe a link is inappropriate. Otherwise, let's restore it. Thanks. -- Presearch (talk) 08:07, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
