Jacob Arabo (a.k.a. "Jacob the Jeweler") a Russian immigrant is a famed jeweler to hip hop artists and the National Basketball Association. Arabo has been referenced in numerous hip hop songs in 2004 and 2005, including those by Grammy winner and business associate Kanye West. In keeping with hip hop style, his works are notable for conspicuous use of gold and diamonds, among other precious materials.

Arabo's work is so well known that his name is synonymous with expensive jewelry. For example, in the song "We Don't Care", by Kanye West: "Everybody selling make up, Jacob's and bootleg tapes just to get they cake up." Arabo also makes an appearance in the fighting game, Def Jam: Fight for NY.

In June 2006, Mr Arabo was arrested] on money laundering charges by the FBI. He is said to have used his jewelery business to launder hundreds of millions of dollars in drug money for the so called Black Mafia Family drug ring. Mr. Arabo denied all charges and was released after posting bail.
