She is the host of Breaking the Set on RT America. In addition to her reporting, Martin is an artist, working across mediums such as: mixed media, acrylic, and collage.

Martin grew up in Pleasanton, California. She graduated from Amador Valley High School and attended San Diego State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in political science. Martin co-founded the citizen journalism project Media Roots. Martin joined RT America in September 2012 to host her own news program, Breaking the Set. Martin's show, Breaking the Set, is in its second season.

Martin brings a honest zeal and real integrity to her journalism. An independent voice within the USA's fifth estate Martin is less scripted and more informative than her mainstream contemporaries.
