Valerio Massimo Manfredi (born 1943) is an Italian scholar of archaeology, journalist, TV host, mainly famous as historical novelist. His books have been translated into several languages. During 2004 he adapted his novel Alexander for the big screen. This is not the Oliver Stone-version but a planned movie to be directed by Baz Luhrman.

He currently teaches in The University of Economics Luigi Bocconi in Milan, Italy.
