The 2014 FFA Cup will be the 1st season of the FFA Cup, the proposed main domestic cup competition in Australian football. 32 clubs from around Australia will enter the competition proper (Round of 32), including the 10 A-League clubs and 22 clubs to be determined through individual state qualifying tournaments in early 2014. The FFA Cup competition proper will commence on 29 July 2014 and will conclude in the FFA Cup Final on 16 December 2014. Although future editions of the tournament will involve the Cup Final being played on Australia Day, this season's Final was brought forward in order to avoid a clash with the 2015 Asian Cup, which will be hosted by Australia.

Format
The knockout competition will involve 32 teams from across Australia, 22 from state leagues and 10 A-League clubs.
All of the teams entering the competition that are not members of the A-League had to compete in the qualifying rounds to win a place in the competition proper. The qualifying rounds decide which 22 non-league teams play in the First Round Proper.
Teams
While the format of the tournament has yet to be officially announced by the FFA, the provisional allocation of teams is as follows:
The FFA Cup draw will be conducted with three pots. The Qualifiers Pot (Pot C), containing 22 clubs from around the country who are not part of the A-League, will be drawn randomly into spots 1-22. Pot A will include the 4 A-League clubs who reach the Semi Finals of the 2013-2014 A-League competition. Pot B will include the remaining 6 A-League clubs and will have to play each other in the 1st round.
