Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, was a international scheduled passenger flight, operated by Malaysia Airlines. The aircraft was a Boeing777-200. It departed from Kuala Lumpur international airport at 12.41am on 8 March 2014. MH370 was expected to land in Beijing at 6.30am the same day. Flight MH370 lost contact with SubangAir Traffic Control at 2.40am on 8 March 2014, two hours after taking off. The flight was carrying a total number of 227 passengers, including 2 children, and 12 crew members. The plane was possibly flying over the waters near the coast of northern Vietnam at the time contact with air traffic control was lost. Contact with Chinese air controllers was not established.
