Before debuting as a member of BtoB, Minhyuk acted in jTBC’s 'Living In Chungdamdong' as Invincible Chungdam No. 3 member, along with fellow members Seo Eunkwang, Lim Hyunsik, Jung Ilhoon, and former BtoB member Lee Minwoo (now C-clown members) . He auditioned for JYP back in 2011.
Under the name "Heota", Minhyuk was featured in Zico and Park Kyung's (of Block B) song, entitled "여전히(Still)".
Minhyuk and fellow member Yook Sungjae were named the new MCs for SBS 'MTV‘s The Show 2'. On March 20, they had their first recording as the new MCs of the music program.
The group has released one mini-album (along with an Asia Special Edition) and three singles. With Ilhoon, Minhyuk took part in writing lyrics for “비밀(Insane)”, their debut song.
He also starred as the lead actor for "그 입술을 뺏었어 (Irresistible Lips)" with actress Seo Woo.
