:Hi, "promotion" doesn't only mean "advertising for money". Non-profits "promote" as well, and the Junior Writers Awards was a prime example of promotion. You created the article by copy/pasting article content from another source, assumed it was fine, and when it was heavily edited and pared down by another editor (i.e. by me), you didn't accept the collaboration, and restored the problematic content without discussion. You even acknowledge in your response above "We would like to get more people knows it is a charity event for all students in Hong Kong and Macau" So your position is problematic because you claim it's not promotional, but then say admit that you want to promote the event. When the event is covered by ] that are independent of the subject, per our ], then ''maybe'' it will be worthy of inclusion at Misplaced Pages. But if you wish to promote your event, you'll have to do it somewhere other than Misplaced Pages. Sorry, ] (]) 05:18, 20 March 2014 (UTC) | |||

Welcome!

March 2014
Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Junior Writers Awards has been reverted.
Your edit here to Junior Writers Awards was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.facebook.com/juniorwritersawards, https://www.facebook.com/senatehouse) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Misplaced Pages.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Misplaced Pages's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 16:07, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
Upperhouse01, you are invited to the Teahouse
Hi Upperhouse01! Thanks for contributing to Misplaced Pages. |
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Misplaced Pages, as you did at Junior Writers Awards, you may be blocked from editing.
Diffs: 27 edits — In these edits, you inexplicably remove maintenance templates and restore problematic, promotional content to the article. Misplaced Pages is not the place to promote the Junior Writers Awards. Articles must be written from a neutral point of view and not in such a way as to deliver fluff, make peacock statements or otherwise make the program appear tantalizing.
Statements about the "unique"ness of the program or how the judges are "esteemed", and parroting the program's website are not what we do here. Additionally, copypasting content from the official site represents a copyright violation, as it has not been freely licensed per the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.
If you are insistent to restore this content to the article, then I will nominate it for speedy deletion under G11 criteria as "Unambiguous advertising or promotion", which I might do anyway. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:29, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Misplaced Pages because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.- Why can't I edit Misplaced Pages?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Misplaced Pages for promotion. Misplaced Pages has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Misplaced Pages to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Misplaced Pages's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Misplaced Pages again.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Misplaced Pages administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Template:Z17 Daniel Case (talk) 20:28, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Junior Writers Awards
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Junior Writers Awards, requesting that it be deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:54, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
