Image for deletion

Hi. An image you uploaded Image:Sugar_Cookie.jpg was listed for deletion. No objections were raised, and it is now eligible for deletion. It seems, however, that you were not notified of its listing. Because it is an image of a common item that any editor can take a picture of, we should not be hosting this copyrighted image on our servers. You may want to review any other images you have uploaded to see if they match the guidelines of Misplaced Pages:Fair use, and add them to your watchlist so that you will know if they have been altered. Thanks. Jkelly 04:42, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

I now notice that you are, in fact, the nominator. Nevermind, and good luck with your editing. Jkelly 05:00, 26 November 2005 (UTC) (feeling a little silly)
That's okay, thanks :-) I Am Ri¢h 14:41, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your support!

Heres a thank you note! Its for you! It indicates my happiness! If my RfA passes I will do good things! Fight vandals! Revert their damage! Close out backlogged stuff! Can't wait! So, Thanks! BD2412's RFA

Although my RfA is not over yet, I figured that since so many people (ahem) voted before it had been posted, I may as well start thanking people before it wraps up. Thank you for your rich support - I'll do my best as an admin to make the reality rise to the level of the dream. BD2412 T 04:54, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

You're welcome man :-D. Now I really hope you win for mentioning my richness ;-)

Thanks again! BD2412 T 22:34, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Fair use on talk page

Image:Lil' Dub Cheiflin.jpg is not fair use on your user page. Read the following: Template:Musicpromo-screenshot then read Misplaced Pages:Fair use, specifically this bullet point:

  • The material should only be used in the article namespace. They should never be used on templates (including stub templates and navigation boxes) or on user pages. They should be linked, not inlined, from talk pages when they are the topic of discussion. Because "fair use" material is not copyright infringement on Misplaced Pages only when used for strictly encyclopedic reasons, their use in other contexts is likely copyright infringement.

Then say it before you start making edits to my user page please. Thanks,

Image:Dollar Bills.jpg has been listed for deletion

An image that you uploaded, Image:Dollar Bills.jpg, has been listed at Misplaced Pages:Images and media for deletion because it lacks source and license information, and it is not used in any articles. Please go there to voice your opinion (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Gorillaz cleanup

I changed it back to the more general cleanup tag, as apart from copyediting (which you put in first) it also needs references and to avoid weasel words, as I explained on the article's talk page. The tag you put in second was also inappropriate, as wikifing is putting in wikimarkup (e.g. using square bracets for links, double/triple apostrophies for italics/bold, etc.) which is already done. --Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 22:41, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

Ok, fair enough. Although as the template suggests, it should be more specific. --I Am Ri¢h! 22:58, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
Yes, but to be more specific one would have to add two or three different tags instead of the one general one, and I thnk that would look kinda messy. --Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 23:17, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
Oh, now I understand. --I Am Ri¢h! 23:20, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

Baseball on Wikicities

Hi I.M. Rich, Googie Man here - I wanted to ask you something as a fellow baseball fan and Misplaced Pages. Jimbo and Angela have made a new webstie called Wikicities. This link in particular will take you to the baseball Wikicity. As you'll see it's similar to Misplaced Pages, but my hope is this will allow baseball fans to do more and different things, like reporting on games, in depth statistics, create mulitple pages for pictures, and whatever else baseball fans care to create. You've done such great work on Misplaced Pages I was hoping you could help me get this baseball Wikicity off the ground. Please let me know what you think either at my talk page, or you can email me at terry@wikia.com. Thanks! Googie Man, 19:51, 4 January 2006.

Participant alert regarding Wikiproject on Advertising

The Wikiproject No Ads, created as a backlash against the Answers.com deal, has served an important function in providing a space for users to express their disagreement with the Foundation proposal. While the current controversies about userboxes raise questions about political and social advocacy on Misplaced Pages, there should be greater flexibility regarding advocacy about Misplaced Pages in the Misplaced Pages namespace. Reported and linked by Slashdot and other press sources as a unique and spontaneous occurence in Misplaced Pages history, it has apparently had some impact as, despite being scheduled to begin in January, not a peep has been heard about the trial and proposed sponsored link since the deal's controversial announcement months ago. Currently, however, there is an attempt to delete the project or move it off Misplaced Pages altogether. Since the Foundation has provided no additional information and has not attempted to answer the specific questions that participants in the project raised, it is unclear if the Answers.com deal has been abandoned or simply delayed. Until the situation becomes more clear, I believe the group should still have a place in the Misplaced Pages namespace. Sincerely, Tfine80 00:21, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

June Meetup in New York

Hi, I noticed you are characterized as a New Yorker so perhaps you might be in the NYC area in June. If you are interested we are having a meetup for Wikipedians in June in NYC. Take a peek at this and please tell any other Wikipedians that you think might be interested in participating about this event. Thanks. Alex756 02:25, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Hello

Hello, I noticed you edited a Hip Hop related article. If you wish you can join the new Hip Hop Wikiproject. --Chubdub 17:00, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

NYCT Bus Route Infomation

I noticed that you reverted my edit to Fresh Pond Bus Depot. So, I'm guessing that you're sticking pretty strictly to what's given, say, on the back of the bus maps and such? No one could argue against the fact that the Q58 runs on Grand Avenue for a very significant distance, and I've never understood why only Fresh Pond Road and Corona Avenue are given as major roads for that route. There would be no reason not to include it, unless—I presume—you're sticking exclusively to official documentation? —Larry V (talk) 01:01, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

I agree and I am using official guidelines. The reason why I'm strict by this is because I don't want the pages I worked hard on making becoming unfactual and messy, but if you want to you can make street edits, as long as it's not a street that's obviously not a major part of the route. File:Myscreenshot.jpg I Am Ri¢h! 01:11, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Seventh Avenue (BMT Brighton)

Regarding the infobox at Seventh Avenue (BMT Brighton Line): I do agree that the way in which the number of tracks is represented in the infobox is a little weird, but I feel compelled to have it that way because of articles like 51st Street (IRT Lexington Avenue Line), which count tracks on other levels. The joint IRT/BMT Flatbush Avenue tunnel is just far more complex than these others. — Larry V (talk) 04:18, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

71st Avenue

Okay, first, please stop editing all these articles involving 71st Avenue; you're screwing up edit histories and creating double redirects all over the place.(I apologize, brief moment of frustration, forgive me.)

Second, the policy at WP:NYCS states that the article names should reflect the most commonly-used name for each station—not necessarily the MTA's "official" name. (Which name is "official" is often highly debatable anyway, depending on the particular references one uses.) However, anyone who takes Queens Blvd trains knows that 71-Continental is the most common way to reference that station; I know of almost no one who refers to it simply by "71st Avenue." Even the conductors announce "71st-Continental."

Also, see Misplaced Pages:Naming conventions (common names)#Rationale:

We want to maximize the likelihood of being listed in external search engines, thereby attracting more people to Misplaced Pages. For example, the pagename is Jimmy Carter and not "James Earl Carter, Jr."; the string "Jimmy Carter" in the page title make it easier to find: search engines will often give greater weight to the contents of the title than to the body of the page. Since "Jimmy Carter" is the most common form of the name, it will be searched on more often, and having that exact string in our page title will often mean our page shows up higher in other search engines.

Since most people call it 71-Continental, most search queries are highly likely to include the term "Continental," thus making it important to have it as part of the article name. — Larry V (talk) 03:19, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

I know I was wrong for my outburst, hence my crossing out the offending comment and apologizing. Again, I'm sorry.
I used to have that sort of mentality about article naming, that the title should be the "real" station name (in my case, whatever was signed in the station) and that other possibilities should be redirected. However, I have since come to realize that it is important for the pages to be actually named what people most commonly use, for the reason quoted above from Misplaced Pages:Naming conventions (common names)#Rationale.
And again, I apologize profusely. Those kinds of outbursts aren't my thing, usually. — Larry V (talk) 04:45, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Wiki Breaks

  • Wiki-star: I don't know of any pages on Misplaced Pages without a break, because they just make an article more organized. So i would say no, theres almost no good article without a page break. Wiki-star 05:58, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

I think he means wiki-vacation. See Misplaced Pages:Wikiholiday for more info. --Harryboyles 06:20, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Ah, already answered above (Misplaced Pages:Wikiholiday)--also posted at help desk question. --Fuhghettaboutit 06:43, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Staten Island Technical High School

If you've got the reference for the claim about perfect Regents etc., please put it in the article. It's not my job to find a reference you obviously know the location of for a claim you inserted into the article. And it would help to expand the claim to explain what a "perfect Regents rate" is - does every student take all the Regents exams and get 100% on them? That would certainly be unusual enough to include in the article, and doubtful enough to require a citation. RossPatterson 16:23, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Please don't just delete the {{citation needed}} tag, add the reference to the article. I've restored the tag. RossPatterson 01:39, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
I understand now, we're talking past each other. You added the name of the reference material to the References section after you reverted my first addition of the tag. I was looking at yesterday's change to see the citation, and there wasn't one. It's the difference between listing references and citing the use of them. I've added the citation. Sorry for the mixup. RossPatterson 13:52, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

{{Template:NYC Specialized High Schools}}

You're incorrect. See my edit summary. - CrazyRussian talk/email 12:36, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Nope, he's right. Check out page 14 of "Choosing a High School - Information for Middle School Students" http://www.nycenet.edu/NR/rdonlyres/0A6E50ED-69B6-40C3-AE06-6EB5D76BEBD0/11571/ChoosingaHS2006FinalEnglish.pdf. There are some inconsistencies in the booklet, but that page lists all 10 schools (9 by exam plus LaGuardia by audition). RossPatterson 01:36, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
OK, I found it, and moved it to make the link go blue. The article is crap! - CrazyRussian talk/email 02:39, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Please remove the picture from your signature per WP:SIG. - CrazyRussian talk/email 02:43, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Images in sig piss some people off, including me, but it's not my aesthetic sensibilities you should worry about - it's the unnecessary server problems signature photos create, per WP:SIG. - CrazyRussian talk/email 03:01, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. - CrazyRussian talk/email 03:03, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Q60

No no, you read my comment wrong ... I know that the Q60 doesn't terminate in Jamaica, I just felt that it was a really specific detail that was maybe too specific for its context, which is general Jamaica transportation information. — Larry V (talk) 21:53, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

Your Edits to Misplaced Pages:WikiProject New York City Subway

I just read your edits to this project. I understand that you may be frustrated, but it is never acceptable to attack other editors. Specifically, I'm refering to the following two edits: and . In them you call the Wikiproject "gay" and repeatedly threaten to stab contributors if you find them on "in the streets".

Please stop these actions immediately. Thanks. --Alphachimp 00:02, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Why *psyche*, I didn't call the Wikiproject gay, I called the subways gay, and also, fine, I'll stop the threats even though I might still be carrying on my "plans" using the information the own user put on his user page in the past (that user is incredibly dumb for doing that, and he might learn his lesson from it...). I Am Ri¢h! 00:07, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
P.S. Don't you enjoy me when I'm in psycho mode? *smiles*
Yeah. I gotta admit it's kinda funny =). --Alphachimp 01:14, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Please refrain from making statements in your edit summaries that might be construed as threats or personal attacks. You will be blocked from editing Misplaced Pages if you continue to do so, regardless of how amusing Alphachimp finds your comments. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 01:20, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Go ahead block me, this encyclopedia sucks dick *ahem* anyways and can't be factual for its life, also, don't fool yourself, you're not intimidating and you can't threaten someone for your life. I Am Ri¢h! 01:27, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Heh. To clarify, I find your edits somewhat amusing (just in how over the top they are)...but they're still innapropriate. I don't think posting on this page is going to do much. You certainly have a lot of good edits. I would encourage you to come back in 24 hours when the block expires. --Alphachimp 01:52, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Block

Very well. For assorted personal attacks and threats, your editing privileges have been suspended for 24 hours. Further attacks will result in a lengthening of this block. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 01:39, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

All I can say is, wow! When you come off it, come and talk about it. You can drop me an email. I've dealt with you before and you're an ok guy/gal. I hope you just had a stress-induced flameout and will come back as the productive user I know. - CrazyRussian talk/email 02:24, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

To Alphachimp and Crzrussian not being chumpy assholes, really appreciate it. I Am Ri¢h! 02:34, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing Misplaced Pages for repeated vandalism. If or when the block expires, please refrain from vandalizing or this account will face longer blocks, and action could be taken against the individual who uses it. -- Samir धर्म 02:55, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi. I'm not about to lift the block, but I would like to give I.M. Rich a chance to explain what was going on with the craziness. Jkelly 03:04, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
I too, would like to know, what the hell has happened. Pacific Coast Highway 03:08, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
I would like to explain and I will... but, oh yeah. I'M BLOCKED SO I CAN'T!!!! I Am Ri¢h! 03:10, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
I did not threaten to kill him, I only threatened to stab him, don't put words in my mouth please. Also, yeah, I would like to explain my recent anger, but that's too personal for Misplaced Pages to know (I'm not going to share my current life "issues" with an unfactual online encyclopedia). I Am Ri¢h! 03:15, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
The block is up for review at WP:ANI#Threats?. It stands as of now as your explanation is not satisfactory -- Samir धर्म 03:18, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Fine, but don't take it out on me. Pacific Coast Highway 03:18, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Good *shrugs shoulders*. (To Samir) I Am Ri¢h! 03:21, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Does this mean that you'll stop this "psycho mode"? Pacific Coast Highway 03:24, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
