Russell Mills was the publisher of the Ottawa Citizen. He was dismissed in 2002 by CanWest Global Communications Corp. following the publication of a story critical of Prime Minister Jean Chrétien and an editorial calling for Chrétien's resignation. After he was dismissed he was became a Nieman Fellow.
