Ricky Martin returned to the music business with Life, his tenth album and his first English language CD in five years, his last being 2000 Sound Loaded. He also co-wrote most of the songs on Life. Martin feels that this album is one of his most personal releases to date, explaining, "I was really in touch with my emotions. I think this album is very multi-layered, just like life is. It's about feeling anger. It's about feeling joy. It's about feeling uncertainty. It's about feeling. And all my emotions are part of this production." Life was released by Sony Music on October 11, 2005 (see 2005 in music) and debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200 chart. The first single of the album, "I Don't Care", which features Fat Joe and Amerie, and its Spanish version "Que Mas Da", which features Fat Joe and Debbie Nova, was Ricky's first English single since 2000 "Loaded". While "Que Mas Da" went Top 10 on the Hot Latin Tracks, "I Don't Care" failed to attract the same popularity in the U.S. But the song did well on the charts in the rest of the world, in countries such as the UK, Italy, France, and Greece.
