WAVY-TV is the NBC affiliate serving the Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News, Virginia television market (DMA). The station broadcasts its analog signal on VHF channel 10 and its digital signal on UHF channel 31.

WAVY-TV began operation on October 3, 1957 as an NBC affiliate. It was owned by Tidewater television until 1968, when it was purchased by LIN Broadcasting, which still owns the station today.

WAVY-TV airs 30 hours of local news a week. It also began producing a nightly 10pm newscast for FOX affiliate WVBT in 1998.
