Adam Farley (born 12 January 1980 in Liverpool, Merseyside) is an English footballer who plays for A.F.C. Liverpool. He is a defender.

He joined Everton as a schoolboy and was part of their 1998 FA Youth Cup winning team, he was man of the match in the 2nd leg of the final. Farley, a very talented centre back, was compared to Alan Hansen by Nick Barmby and was tipped by Colin Harvey to have an outstanding career. He made one first team appearance, coming on as a substitute against Derby County in February 1999 and was substitute at West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur. However at the end of February 1999 he broke his cheekbone & jaw in an Under 19s match, and drifted further away from the first team, before being released in May 2000.

He joined Altrincham in 2000, making 34 league appearances and scoring one goal for the club. He joined Droylsden at the start of the 2001–02 season, staying with them for three years, Droylsden enjoyed the best season in their history in 2003-2004 while captained by Farley, winning 4 Trophys, he also collected player of the year awards in 2002–03 & 2003–04 and a move to Sheffield Wednesday fell through in February 2004 because they refused to pay the £120,000 price tag that Droylsden had set, Farley was unhappy that he wasn't sold and accused Droylsden of being greedy and stopping him from progressing. In late 2004 he joined Witton Albion.

Farley returned to his home city of Liverpool at the start of the 2005–06 season, signing for Marine collecting the player of the year award in 2006–07 season. He also won the Liverpool senior cup with Marine beating Liverpool FC in the final 2-1. He left Marine after being charged with betting £700 against his own team in 2008 and 2009, he also played in one of these matches. He was banned from football for 9 months and fined £250.

After a brief stint at Burscough at the start of 2010–11 season, Farley signed for Leigh Genesis to help out a friend and former team mate Mark Maddox. In December he moved with team-mate John Lawless to Formby. The pair only played in two games before manager Gary Martindale and the entire first team resigned in January 2011. Farley and Lawless were swiftly signed by Burscough.

Personal life

Farley attended both primary and secondary schools in Croxteth Merseyside. His secondary school De La Salle Humanities College was also attended by Wayne Rooney and Francis Jeffers. He is a keen fisherman. Farley is still a big Evertonian and attends every home game with the Everton Former Players Foundation. He is quoted to have said,

"Growing up playing for my school and supporting Everton FC, if somebody would have said to me 'look, you are going to win the FA Youth Cup and only make one appearance for Everton FC live on sky sports, do you want it? I would have bitten their hand off for it".
