John, I can see that you reverted the deletion of the Gentleman's Agreement and Sundown Towns. The book "Lies Across America" is available on Google Books. At page 383, you will find the passage regarding Larry Abbott. Abbott's alleged statement is unsupported hearsay from 63 years ago. The book itself provides no proof of the statement. Anything written in a work of "non-fiction" becomes a fact worthy of an entry in an encyclopedia? It may be a fact that the passage is in the book (indeed, the book says what it says) but it is not necessarily a fact that such a sign was ever installed. Also, it is not entirely clear to a Misplaced Pages reader that Abbott's claim comes from the book. It is particularly egregious given the allegation in the book to include such an entry in my view. — Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 04:13, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
