Welcome to the talk page of Iselilja

Hopefully we can have polite, pleasant and constructive discussions here.

I will reply on this page, unless you ask otherwise or direct me otherwhere.

I have been on Misplaced Pages since 2011, but first started editing more actively in early summer 2012, mainly on Norwegian (bokmål) Misplaced Pages; since 2013 more of my editing have been to English Misplaced Pages. The archive of my first two and a half years on English Misplaced Pages is here and here, if it is of interest.

(To experienced Wikipedians: Please note that I have turned off notifications, so you have to go the old way of notifying me here if you want to make sure that I get your message.)

WikiCup error

Hi there- this is just a quick note to apologise for a small but important mistake in the last WikiCup newsletter; it is not 64 users who will progress to the next round, but 32. J Milburn (talk) 18:52, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Hello Iselilja. I see that you do not use the notifications feature. I left a question for you on the Arbcom decision talk thread here: Thanks. SPECIFICO talk 13:34, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

I've responded. SPECIFICO talk 15:43, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. All's well. My only hope at the Case, at this point, is that I am not banned from topics outside the Mises Institute related articles, because the larger Austrian and Economics topics are where my expertise and much of my contribution to WP has lain. Thanks again for your gracious response. SPECIFICO talk 17:51, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Peder Kolstad

Hello! Your submission of Peder Kolstad at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! --Allen3  17:47, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Iselilja, it's been two weeks since this was posted here, and there hasn't been any action to address the issues, including a needed QPQ review. Please stop by as soon as possible; the nomination may be closed absent a response of some sort, which would be a shame. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:28, 3 May 2014 (UTC)
  • I'll be marking this for closure after your next set of edits, if they don't include a post on the nomination page. I wanted to be sure to give you one more chance before I did so, however; I hope you do stop by. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:52, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Jens Hundseid

Hello! Do you intend to complete your nomination of Jens Hundseid at the Did You Know nominations page. Your nomination's entry is in a largely indeterminate state with multiple "to come" statements for over a week. Please add an appropriate hook and QPQ review soon to prevent this nomination from being closed prematurely. --Allen3  00:32, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

I see that you've been around and made an edit after the above note was posted, but did not add a hook or a QPQ. Unfortunately, if you do not do so in a day or two, the nomination will be considered abandoned, and it will be rejected. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 02:09, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2014 April newsletter

Round 3 of the 2014 WikiCup has just begun; 32 competitors remain. Pool G's Oh, better far to live and die / Under the brave black flag I fly... Adam Cuerden (submissions) was Round 2's highest scorer, with a large number of featured picture credits. In March/April, he restored star charts from Urania's Mirror, lithographs of various warships (such as SMS Gefion) and assorted other historical media. Second overall was Pool E's Smithsonian Institution Godot13 (submissions), whose featured list Silver certificate (United States) contains dozens of scans of banknotes recently promoted to featured picture status. Third was Pool G's United States ChrisGualtieri (submissions) who has produced a large number of good articles, many, including Falkner Island, on Connecticut-related topics. Other successful participants included Rhodesia Cliftonian (submissions), who saw three articles (including the top-importance Ian Smith) through featured article candidacies, and Washington, D.C. Caponer (submissions), who saw three lists (including the beautifully-illustrated list of plantations in West Virginia) through featured list candidacies. High-importance good articles promoted this round include narwhal from Canada Reid, iain james (submissions), tiger from Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions) and The Lion King from Minas Gerais Igordebraga (submissions). We also saw our first featured topic points of the competition, awarded to Nepal Czar (submissions) and Indiana Red Phoenix (submissions) for their work on the Sega Genesis topic. No points have been claimed so far for good topics or featured portals.

192 was our lowest qualifying score, again showing that this WikiCup is the most competitive ever. In previous years, 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) or 100 (2010) secured a place in Round 3. Pool H was the strongest performer, with all but one of its members advancing, while only the two highest scorers in Pools G and F advanced. At the end of June, 16 users will advance into the semi-finals. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Misplaced Pages talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! American politics arbitration evidence

Hi. You contributed to a recent RFC about this topic area. This message is to notify you that the arbitration proceedings at Misplaced Pages:Arbitration/Requests/Case/American politics are underway, and evidence about all disruptive edits to articles within this topic is being accepted at the relevant case page. If you wish to submit evidence for the committee to consider in reaching its decision, please do so now. The evidence phase of the case ends soon, and evidence submitted after the deadline may not be considered. Further advice on submitting evidence, and what evidence the committee will accept, is linked at the top of the evidence page. Please contact me or the other drafting arbitrator if you require more time to submit evidence. Thank you. For the Arbitration Committee, AGK 14:13, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

Comment on the IOR editing process

Dear Iselilja, I just wanted you to give you a brief update that also the controversy section has been updated by me. The charges against Msgr. Scarano (fraud and mony laundering) so far were not mentioned in the entry at all. In order to give a comprehensive picture of the IOR, also these issues need to be named. Just for you to know that I am basically just interested in keeping the Wiki page up to date. Kind regards --CNC IOR (talk) 07:51, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Polish Poms

Thanks for reverting my edit to Poles in the United Kingdom. I trust it is now working to your satisfaction. Nankai (talk) 10:25, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Yes, very fine. I saw it was just a thumb that was missing; I am not so used to editing infoboxes, so I didn't figure that out for myself. Regards, Iselilja (talk) 10:30, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

DYK for Peder Kolstad

Updated DYK queryOn 14 May 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Peder Kolstad, which you recently created or substantially expanded. Fine editing

Do you realize that the "fine" editing you are referring to (which I reverted) consisted of (admittedly false) allegations of vandalism and disruptive editing against users adding accurate content? Please read the actually reversions Bink says were "HOUNDING" and explain why I was wrong to make them. Steeletrap (talk) 17:43, 24 May 2014 (UTC) If you want to ban me for calling him "Binkie," fine, but be forthright about your intention (and your indifference to the insults he made, such as questioning my competence). Steeletrap (talk) 17:46, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Update information on Istituto per le Opere di Religione

Hi, as suggested by you, I added update information on the talk page of the IOR (basically the last three entries on the talk page). Could you check it and - in case you consider it to be suitable - put it online on the actual page? I also pasted some external links for a better referencing. Many thanks! --CNC IOR (talk) 15:44, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Thank you. I did a bit now, and shall look into it more later when I have time. The issues are somewhat complicated for me who hasn't followed this story previously, so I cannot write everything straight away. Please feel free to comment again at the talk page in you have any issues with how the article is expanded/updated. Regards, Iselilja (talk) 16:16, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
