Good Article reviews?

Hey, Tony. I saw that you previously did the GA review for a couple of American swimmer articles. I have three newly nominated GAs (Catie Ball, Tracy Caulkins, Nicole Haislett) that are in pretty good shape and should require only a moderate amount of work to comply and be promoted. All three subjects are American swimmers who were Olympic gold medalists, so there also should be a certain commonality regarding subject matter and potential GA comments. Do you have any interest in taking on this little package-deal project? I have also nominated the article for Robert Cade, the inventor of Gatorade. . . . Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. Soriano's game

While it is true that Soriano collected all six of his hits in the first nine frames, a look at the box score reveals that he played all ten innings. Therefore, his game should be noted as an extra-inning game, not a nine-inning game, because the Rangers batted in the bottom of the tenth. - Hoops gza (talk) 17:26, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Major Leagues

Whether the American Association qualifies as a major league is a matter of debate among historians. If you wish to include it, I can also add in the two occurrences in the Players League. - Hoops gza (talk) 23:45, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Caris LeVert

Piper Chapman GA nom

Great job so far on the article Piper Chapman.

I left some comments on the talk page.

I'd love to review it for GA but I'd like to see the Critical commentary sect expanded, perhaps even doubled in size.

Compare with the article Miss Rosa which is also a GA candidate -- that is a pretty good article already to model from.

Let me know what you think,

Emily Ratajkowski article stability questions

I'd like to move on with the review for GA but first had some stability questions: I see Emily Ratajkowski article edit history there was some recent reverting in the Filmography table, what was that about? Also there's two sections on the talkpage, Born in London and GQ cover in WP LEAD, have those been both amicably resolved? I see earlier in September there were some problematic edits by newer users regarding sourcing and block evasion, have those issues been resolved?

Once these questions are answered I can move forward with rest of GA Review.

Thank you,

Cirt (talk) 15:00, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

WSJ.

Just a heads up that this article needs to be looked at again, based on the "many expect the magazine to be successful" line from its debut year. Aloha, -- Zanimum (talk) 21:58, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

Wrigley renovations

I was referred to the WT:BASEBALL page by GoPhightins to discuss an article I just started (re:Wrigley Field renovations). After reading your discussion about the Dodgers playoff game and your images, it struck me that maybe you have, or will have, or can be cajoled to have, pictures of the on-going renovations. I thought of taking some shots myself but they would be amateur compared to yours. Thanks in advance. ```Buster Seven Talk 07:09, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

Buster7, I live on the South Side in Hyde Park. Wrigley Field is located in Lake View. I rarely go further north than the Loop or the southern part of the Near North Side (where the Magnificent Mile is). To get that far north requires a transfer (on public transportation). Please drop a note at WP:CHICAGO so that northsiders are alerted because I am not likely to chronicle this in pictures.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 14:12, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
Tony. Thanks for the geography lesson. I live on the North Side in Rogers Park. I will make my request at WT:CHICAGO as you suggest. ```Buster Seven Talk 00:54, 9 October 2014 (UTC)

DYK for 1 (2013 film)

Updated DYK queryOn 13 October 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 1 (2013 film), which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that 1 is a documentary film about Formula One's progress from multiple fatalities per season in its early years to the 1994 death of Ayrton Senna, its most recent? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/1 (2013 film). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Timely

Hi, Tony. I'm mostly interested in musicals, not plays, and much more interested in older ones than ones that are currently playing. All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 23:37, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

DYK for Piper Chapman

Updated DYK queryOn 16 October 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Piper Chapman, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Uzo Aduba won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress as Orange Is the New Black's "Crazy Eyes", while Taylor Schilling was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress as Piper Chapman? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Re:user page

The icons at the top of my page represent articles I, in some way or another, am involved with. It could be an article I created, significantly contributed to, or reviewed. Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 23:25, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

Jonas Vinther, that is a pretty senseless use of header icons, IMO. I would have to add 273 icons for GAs I have reviewed and maybe a thousand for significant contributions if I used your logic. I would suggest only listing articles that you are a one of the main editors of. Otherwise, I would rearrange your header to separate out the reviews from the editorial contributions.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 02:28, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
I really don't care too much about your opinion. Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 21:54, 19 October 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 19

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jarmere Jenkins, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Match point. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

DYK hook

I have a question here, is the "hook" a requirement to be mentioned in the LEAD of the article, or it should be mentioned must even if it is not a requirement? --Captain Assassin! 12:52, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

Hello Tony! No one ever forgets Captain, how did you? We were together in the GA review discussion of Dallas Buyers Club. Now you remember me, so here's the point, I'm currently reviewing a DYK, and as far I know every reviewer who had reviewed my DYK nominations asked for the hook to be mentioned in the LEAD. And that's why I'm asking this user to mention the hook which is important and interesting point in the article, but he is denying to mention. --Captain Assassin! 01:24, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
Here is the discussion Template:Did you know nominations/St Mary's Church, Presbytery and Convent, Little Crosby. Maybe I'm wrong, but as far I know every reviewer, who reviewed my NOMs, always asked me to mention the hook in the LEADs. --Captain Assassin! 14:35, 21 October 2014 (UTC)

Kind of you to thank me, but it includes an undeserved credit...

(For Met Gala, at my talk page.) So have you ever considered writing an article about the Put a Tiger in Your Tank slogan? Or would that be a COI? Seems to me this DYK hook would be interesting: ...that blues musician Muddy Waters recorded a Willie Dixon song based on the Esso slogan Put a Tiger in Your Tank? . There's an entire book on the slogan: . I have fond memories of an Esso tank on the south side, or maybe in northwest Indiana, that had a huge tiger tail coming out of it - we kids would squawk in delight from the back seat every time we saw it. There's a lot of images out there, maybe one could be fair use? Best wishes and thanks for all your Chicago-related articles, Novickas (talk) 17:59, 21 October 2014 (UTC)

Novickas, I have corrected this thanks.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 18:56, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
