Rajesultanpur (राजेसुल्तानपुर), or Raje Sultanpur is a city and a Nagar Panchayat in Ambedkar Nagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Demographics

As of 2011 India census, Rajesultanpur had a population of 10,836. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Rajesultanpur has an average literacy rate of 62%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 52%.

Transportation

Rajesultanpur is connected by National Highway 233A (India) and National Highway 233B (India) with the rest of the country. The rail connectivity is used primarily for passenger as well as goods transportation,through Akbarpur Railway station And Faizabad Railway Station, there are the main stations for travelling . It is located about 60 km and 120 km from in west of the town. Rajesultanpur is around 120 km from Varanasi, 250 km from Lucknow, 120 km from Faizabad and around 60 km from Gorakhpur.

Frequent government bus services are not available to nearby towns and cities. Azamgarh, many private travel agencies run frequent bus services to Azamgarh and Faizabad such as SBS (Singh Bus Service). For short journeys, Jeeps and Autos are the common means of transportation. For internal transport, the rickshaw is very common.

The nearest Airport are Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport or Varanasi Airport and Chaudhary Charan singh International Airport, Amausi, Lucknow.

Culture

Many festivals are celebrated here (by Hindus, and Muslims), such as Durga Pooja and Eid. Some local events like Datikandhava , Ramleela and Dashara and the Sahid Jainti are also celebrated here.
