Ahhh ... Penarth that Urban Town where ships could recognize it from St.Augustine`s Spire atop the hill overlooking the Dock with the mysterious House looking down at the Dock Beach. The Dock Hill with the Nettles & Dock Leaves, the air itself full of pungent history and reeked of nostalgia in those days. I hear it has become sanitized with some yuppy type Yacht Dock and `Lake`I shudder to think of who could have made the decisiion toanniahilate the Town we knew.
I`m glad I have not seen Penarth since the`Modernization,I even hear the decrepid house I lived in, is now a Historic Manse on Tourist Walk-way tours.(12 Maughan Terrace) I recall my Father reconstructing the Floors from Land Mine damage and fixing up the place so other Tenants could live there.Ah-well but that was a loooong time ago.
Expatriat Bob Morritt here weeping for the loss of my old Town.(Cheers from Canada)

Penarth (Welsh: pen head, end + arth bear) is a town in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, lying on the Bristol Channel and Cardiff Bay. The town lies at the western end of the Cardiff Barrage, which it is possible to walk across (though access for pedestrians through the dockyards on the east end of the barrage is restricted).
Attractions in Penarth include a pleasure pier and an art gallery, while both Cosmeston Medieval Village and Lavernock Point lie nearby.
