Proposed deletion of Jerome Katz

The article Jerome Katz has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails Misplaced Pages:Notability (academics); sources are mostly self-published and/or self-referential, secondary sources only mention or quote Katz and do not demonstrate the required level of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A cup of coffee for you!

You know the civility rule. It helps nothing to increase tension and remove fun. Keep cool, right? Blue Rasberry (talk) 21:05, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
I do appreciate the thought, because while we disagree about loads of stuff you do understand that "consensus" doesn't mean "getting everything I want", but my Misplaced Pages days are over. Have fun, and thanks for the coffee.--FergusM1970 21:07, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
I am sorry to see you go. If you are from a culture which celebrates during this time of year then have fun.
It still is a shock to me every time I read that someone is leaving, even though I ought to expect that someone from an article like the e-cigarettes would be the next to go.
I have a high tolerance for nonsense so I am not leaving anytime soon. If you see me around say hello; if you come back then I will still be here. Thanks for the content writing at the end. I will follow through and advocate for its inclusion, and am glad you helped me get to some consensus that I think others will accept.
I was not expecting you to leave but I hope you find contentment in whatever you do next. Blue Rasberry (talk) 21:42, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
Well, it's more a case of getting thrown out (slooooowly) but after my last conversation with Doc I pretty much decided I was done anyway. I'm ex-military and can't work this way; seeking consensus is always valuable but at some point someone has to say "Bollocks. This is what we're going to do, now follow me." Anyway I'm from Scotland so arguably I don't have a culture at all, but I'm sure I'll still manage to celebrate. You have a good one, too.--FergusM1970 21:46, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
If all it was, was a disagreement on the talk pages, I doubt a block would have happened. Its editing for pay without disclosure thats the issue. I think you did well trying to work in a crazy situation, its something few can cope with all the time. I dont think what you proposed on e-ciagerette was or is a problem. Showing you care about a subject is important, those that really dont care are a problem. You can always appeal the block, but the paid editing will probably have to stop if your allowed to edit again. AlbinoFerret 21:57, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
To be honest I'd rather not. I'll miss contributing, because I've added a lot of good info and cleaned up a lot of niff-naff and typos, but it's a timewaster. I almost always turn down wiki jobs now anyway; they're time-consuming and don't pay very well, at least if you try to do some proper research. In any case I really can't face any more punching at bureaucratic dough. My heart just isn't in it any more, I'm afraid. However if you ever need web content, white papers, blog posts or a series of adventure novels with yourself as the hero I'm always around at Elance. And if you just want to say hi, well, you have my email. :-)--FergusM1970 22:04, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
I just sent you one through the link to the left. AlbinoFerret 22:08, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
