CatchPhrase celebrity section.

Hi I just had a question about the CatchPhrase Misplaced Pages page. Recently, SolomanMckenzie added in a section about the celebrity episodes being broadcast and the winnings. and the like. There recently has been a crackdown on game shows like The Chase UK or Tipping Point Lucky Stars, where certain other uses have deemed episode guides and lists of celebrities to be fancruft and NOTSTATS (you can check the edit histories of both programmes). Even after this has been mentioned on both programmes, users like Soloman McKenzie likes to add in lists of Celebrities or episode guides which do get reverted. Would this section that this user has added be considered fancruft as well? Batch file

Please explain how I can properly add the link to www.BatToExeConverter.com to the batch file page. My compiler is my lives work. It started a software category in 2003 and it adds many useful commands to batch files that cannot be found elseware.

It also allows users to hide their batch file code and add an icon. They can raise code to ADMIN level execution status and embed their company name and copyright/version information in the file properties.

I was also trying to remove the part of the article that contains malicious batch file code in order to prevent ignoarant people sharing malicious code to hard working people. This can cost time and money to thousands of people if it is not removed. Someone could potentionally lose their job or even worst. Why was I blocked from making these changes.

I am new to editing wiki articles but I feel my changes are necessary. Please help me make these changes.

What I really put are FACTS, which are always OBJECTIVE, because they are true and what is subjective is somebody's opinion... I am open to different opinions and I also included some of negative or critical opinions in a text! I have no problems with that... But, if Your whole text is based on negative opinions or few years old information INSTEAD of facts, maybe because facts include for example this person's success in some area or rewards or so then I wish to ask You: does it mean that "objectivity" in case of Mr Osmanagich for You or for the wiki? is that HAVE to be given exclusively NEGATIVE "information" and opinions about that person? Because it is obvious that ANY positive FACT, not to talk about opinion is not tolerating at all... Or?

Hi Joycefdm, the best way fo making changes to the article would be to go to the talk page of the article and click the new section button. Insert {{requested edit}} on the first line of the new section then state what you want to change, it would need to be in an I want to change X to Y format. The main reasons for this are that as you are employed by the article namesake there would be a conflict of interest in you editing directly, by posting the request on the talk page in question this will give an uninvolved editor chance to review and implement your edit to the article whiel makign sure it remains within the guidelines for editing. removed content regarding "decreased risk"

Removed the content regarding decreased suicide risk because the section read like a pharmaceutical company advertisement and was inappropriately in the wiki article regarding increased risk NOT decreased risk. Perhaps a new article should be started for this PHARMA advertisement? Maybe we have enough on television? In fact the information cited in the content I removed was from an article sponsored and with data SUPPLIED by the pharmaceutical industry. Here is the footnote from the very article the section cited and used.

"Additional Contributions: Data were supplied by the National Institute of Mental Health (Treatment for Adolescents With Depression Study), Wyeth, and Eli Lilly and Co.

Guild of Copy Editors December 2014 Newsletter

Drive: Thanks to everyone who participated in November's Backlog Elimination Drive. Of the 43 people who signed up for this drive, 26 copy edited at least one article. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here.

Progress report: The November Drive removed 26 requests from the Requests page and 509 articles from the {{copy edit}} backlog. We copy edited 83 articles tagged in the target months; July, August, and September 2013. Together with tag removals from articles unsuitable for copy editing, we eliminated July 2013 from the backlog and reduced August and September's tags to 61 and 70 respectively. As of 01:01, 1 December 2014 (UTC), the backlog stood at 1,974 articles, dipping below 2,000 for the first time in the Guild's history (see graph at right). Well done everyone!

Hello,

I would like to inquire why you deleted the article Michael Tuts? I saved the article earlier than I intended and was still working on it. However, if I recall correctly, the content of the article as I saved it did state he was the chair of the Physics department at Columbia University, which I believe indicates he is notable. I will shortly be posting some more information about his academic accomplishments and impact.

If you want to work on an article before you publish it without risk of deletion there is an area located within your pages labelled Sandbox (link located on the top row of your pages) you can create an article here make requests for feedback and edit until you are happy that it is ready to be published in the main ody of Misplaced Pages. It would be worth reading the ] page to ensure that the claims of notability are met by the evidence provided. Pages about individuals should always be sourced from the outset so be sure that you include evidence from reliable sources to ensure that the claims made can be validated. Thats fine there are several policies regarding editing that are quite heavily enforced. The main one of this is Be Bold, Revert, Discuss. Anyone is freeto edit wikipedia and you should be bold in doing so. If you are reverted however the next step is to take it to a discussion on the relevent articles talkpage and gain consensus for the cahnge. Edits to Mal Brough regarding the Northern Territory Emergency Response

You recently removed an edit I made to page: Mal Brough regarding the Northern Territory Emergency Response. As the single biggest event in Mal's political career to date, it is certainly valid. I referenced an article on 'The Conversation' written by a university lecturer and based on the work on internationally renowned journalist, John Pilger. I also cited a 'Fact Check' article from SBS broadcasting. Both have their own editorial boards.

Hi, it appears that the same person who originally added the information has readded it to the article. The section in the lead appears unnesseacry as it is also included very soon in the main body of the article. It might be worth removing it from the lead.

Dear Amortias, In response to your question: Two references are included in the sentence I added to the S.J. Singer article. They refer to articles by me (John Lenard) and S.J. Singer that were published in two highly prestigious scientific journals: Proceedings of the National Academy of Scienes, USA, and Science. They are dated 1966 and 1968, hence pre-date the first "fluid mosaic" publications by several years. Their veracity can be easily checked should you wish to do so. In fact, Garth took up the membrane project after I left the laboratory; hence, I have called these first two papers on membrane protein structure from the Singer lab "foundational", because they did in fact form the basis for Garth's excellent subsequent work. February 2015, Pierce Brosnan

Well, sir, if you noticed as I've submitted modifications on the page GoldenEye: Rogue Agent and anything regarding to that of Pierce Brosnan's presence is absolutely a myth started by the fandom. In fact, Brosnan was never collaborated either with likeness nor voice in that video game. It all is a subject that belongs to Jason Carter instead who handled the role of Bond/007 in that entry. Hi, if the information is incorrect then please feel free to remove it. The reaosn it was reverted is that no explanation was given in the edit summary to explain why the information was removed. Greetings, sir. On this page, that I do have a link to, shows footage of the character with the name 'generic' sculptured upon. I don't currently have a footage of the credits that appear on the video game where Jason Carter's name was enlisted. But, it is written on the game's IMDB page, in voice. As for the link, it is an interview with one of the writers who never mentioned Brosnan's existence in the project at all. Howeverm that single image, if compared to Carter's portrait, will be a proof, in my honest opinion. Guild of Copy Editors February 2015 Newsletter

Drive: Thanks to everyone who participated in January's Backlog Elimination Drive. Of the 38 people who signed up for this drive, 21 copyedited at least one article. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here.

Progress report: We were able to remove August 2013 from the general copyediting backlog and November 2014 from the request-page backlog. Many thanks, everyone!

Blitz: The February Blitz will run from February 15–21 and again focuses on the requests page. Awards will be given to everyone who copyedits at least one request article. Sign up here!
