Was she an actress? IMDb doesn't list any credits as such. Clarityfiend (talk) 00:36, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- There is some info that might be useful just below the opening paragraph here. Of course there might be other sources that disagree with this but I thought its description of why the actress from the silent film era gets confused with her. Cheers to you both. MarnetteD|Talk 00:42, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- No idea what happened there! I've removed the comments about being an actress. Maybe she had acting credits when I created it in 2008 and it's a case of two different people having one IMDB profile at that time. Lugnuts 10:49, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Clarityfiend:, @MarnetteD: - Found it. Here's a snapshot of IMDB in early 2009. Clearly two biographies of different individuals. Lugnuts 10:48, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

Your Opinion
Hi, I just wanted to know something. Is it necessary to include Golden Raspberry Awards nominations at actor's page of "Awards and nominations". Because they those awards look like parody or satire. I am confused on this matter, because some winners and nominees have included them in their age like Will Smith but some didn't like Jennifer Aniston. I will really appreciate your answer regarding this matter.--Jockzain (talk) 21:15, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

Notability of Manic Street Preachers articles
You removed the {{notability}} tag from several Manic Street Preachers-related articles. The reason I added this tag is because the subjects in question didn't meet the notability requirements (the guidelines that are found on the link contained within the tag): e.g. they didn't place on more than one reputable chart, or, they placed on one chart but did not have sufficient independent references to back them up (e.g. in the case of 4st 7lb, the article has numerous references but they are in regard to the album The Holy Bible and not the track in specific; by this (incorrect) logic any track could have an article if the album's subject has enough references). Lachlan Foley (talk) 22:36, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
- In the case of "Further Away" it was pretty easy to add a handful of references. -- Sam 01:44, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
- They're clearly notable. Lugnuts 10:09, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
The following message by Lachlan Foley in reply to my message above has been moved from User talk:Sam Sailor#Further Away notability in order to avoid fragmentation. I hope you don't mind, Lugnuts. -- Sam 10:37, 24 January 2015 (UTC)- I notice you removed the {{notability}} tag from the article Further Away. You have added sources, which is good, but it appears these references are not specifically about the subject in question – I believe in order to qualify a subject as Misplaced Pages-notable it must contain numerous sources specifically about that subject, not just sources which may mention the subject. If this differs from your understanding please let me know, but, if not, I think the {{notability}} tag should be replaced.
- Please notify me with the Talkback template once you have replied. Lachlan Foley (talk) 06:48, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Sarkis Assadourian (fencer)
I attached the category "Iranian Armenian people" for Sarkis Assadourian (fencer) as he is an ethnic Armenian from Iran just as the category implies. You had earlier asked where does it does say that he is from Armenia. Again, if you reread what I wrote, you would know that he is from Iran and not from Armenia. There is no argument there. As for the source to where it says he is Armenian, there is none posted. I just know he is an ethnic Armenian just by name as Armenians have a big community presence in Iran. I don't understand how you think of me as vandalizing an article? Perhaps, we could clear up some misunderstanding. Hovhannesk (talk) 14:33, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Just a note
Cwobeel has demonstrated a pattern of WP:IDHT and battleground behavior. It was not an unassuming error that was made. Those edits occurred after this discussion at this BLPN. After Cirt makes that BLPN notice the very first thing Cwobeel does is restore the entire unsourced page.. While User talk:Cwobeel#IMDB is not a reliable source did follow - Cwobeel was entirely aware of BLP and the requirements. While he says he knows the difference now, but he was informed repeatedly including that discussion by Kww and repeatedly disagreed with Kww. This WP:IDHT attitude leads to Cwobeel challenging Kww with this edit stating: If you are going to block any editor that adds material without a source, you will not have time for anything else. Look, I understand the issue, but this is a storm in a team cup, so let's drop it, shall we?
The block came a minute later. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 14:55, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

The Good Companions
This film had its world premiere at the Warner Theatre, Leicester Square on March 7th 1957 (I believe I initially put January in error). The film is, therefore a 1957 film and the BFI is wrong. A film is dated by its first public performance, not the year it was made.Ambak51 (talk) 12:58, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

THe source is the cinema's advertising in The Times of March 7 1957, available on The Times Online Archive. In addition, the BBFC website gives January 9th 1957 as its certification date, so it could not have been shown to the public before that date.Ambak51 (talk) 15:59, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

About your (non)participation in the January 2012 SOPA vote
Hi. I am Piotr Konieczny (User:Piotrus), you may know me as an active content creator (see my userpage), but I am also a professional researcher of Misplaced Pages. Recently I published a paper (downloadable here) on reasons editors participated in Misplaced Pages's biggest vote to date (January 2012 WP:SOPA). I am now developing a supplementary paper, which analyzes why many editors did not take part in that vote. Which is where you come in :) You are a highly active Wikipedian (21st most active!), and you were active back during the January 2012 discussion/voting for the SOPA, yet you did not chose to participate in said vote. I'd appreciate it if you could tell me why was that so? For your convenience, I prepared a short survey at meta, which should not take more than a minute of your time. I would dearly appreciate you taking this minute; not only as a Misplaced Pages researcher but as a fellow content creator and concerned member of the community (I believe your answers may help us eventually improve our policies and thus, the project's governance). PS. If you chose to reply here (on your userpage), please WP:ECHO me. Thank you! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 14:59, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Tag-banned user and AfD nominations
Following their recent ban from tagging with {{notability}} I notice that in just two days from the 2nd to the 4th they have send 17 articles to Afd (). Several of these cases are articles where the editor previously tagged with notability. Some AfD nominations fall within just 2-3 minutes of each other. I had a go at the oldest nomination,4st 7lb, and it was quite easy to add ten sources. All in all I don't get the impression that they try to search for and add sources prior to hitting the XfD button. Your thoughts? -- Sam 13:44, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

I might need a bit of help here. As understood, I can be blocked the next time I break the rules again. We should keep an eye on the kid under our watchlists, just in case he starts spamming our talk pages or anything as soon as his 3-day block is up. I just reverted his own edits at his own talk page, as he was apparently taunting me. Just a smart-mouth hypocrite spoiled brat that is so great at trash-talking just because he got his own self blocked. JoesphBarbaro (talk) 20:58, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks JB. Wont be too long before he hangs himself. Lugnuts 07:42, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
Stub template spacing
Per WP:STUBSPACING: It is usually desirable to leave two blank lines between the first stub template and whatever precedes it. --Bamyers99 (talk) 22:24, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
- "It is usually desirable" - come back to me when it's changed to "You MUST leave..." Lugnuts 13:00, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
Various questions
Let me start just with one question that I couldn't figure out by searching the project talk pages, but I guess you have an answer to, categories: common sense (if I dare think I have any such) tell me that we only add production companies. Which in any case sometimes is 3-4-5 companies. We don't add Distributors and 'Other Companies', right? -- Sam 19:10, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
Heads up
When someone asks you to stop posting on their talk page, barring an ANI notification or something like that, it means stop posting. Not post another snide comment and then insult the person who rightly removed your dreck. If you have a problem with Bishonen (or any other editor), take it to ANI. §FreeRangeFrog 20:00, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
- And you are? Let me know when you've crawled out of their arses. Lugnuts 20:03, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
