Johanna Maria Magdalena Goebbels (November 11, 1901 - May 1, 1945) was the wife of Joseph Goebbels and First Lady of the Third Reich.
Magda was born in Berlin to Auguste Behrand and Oskar Reitschel. As a child she was sent to convents and found it difficult to make friends with fellow pupils. She married widower Gunther Quandt on January 4, 1921, and soon bore him a son Harold on November 1. After divorcing Quandt she enlisted in the Nazi Party and met and married Goebbels on February 19, 1929. They subsequently had six children:
- Helga (born January 4, 1930)
- Hilda (born May 19, 1932)
- Helmuth (born October 13, 1935)
- Holda (born February 1, 1937)
- Hedda (born May 11, 1938)
- Heida (born May 2, 1940)
On the morning of May 1, 1945, they poisoned all their children with cyanide. They were found on the afternoon of May 2, 1945.
