We generally prefer unprotection requests go directly through the protecting admin (in this case Mike V) and only end up here if the protecting admin isn't active or isn't capable of lowering protecting (desysopping, blocks, etc.). Looking at the dispute, it doesn't seem to have been discussed very much and I'm not sure if the only thing preventing edit warring is the full protection. tutterMouse (talk) 13:30, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

Unprotection: User:CambridgeBayWeather, there was only one editor making a wholesale revert back to an older version. The other editor self-reverted. I just noticed the editor was warned for the wholesale revert by admin User:Mr. Stradivarius. I think it was a bit hasty for the protection since it was only one revert by one editor. There was not enough edit warring for full protection IMO. I don't think the same editor will revert back to an older version after being warning because the same editor accepted that it was not completely necessary to perform a wholesale revert. 3 months protection is way too long. The last protection was for 3 months. That is a total of 6 months for a page where there is currently active research in the field. At least reduce the duration of the protection to a week. I support full protection and oppose any reduction in protection level. The irony is that QuackGuru was the only user to request the last reduction in protection level and then almost immediately went and tried to force through large-scale changes without consensus by making 17 edits in 2 hours, including one vast 9k edit. My wholsesale revert of these edits was considered unnecessary by an admin which is the warning that QuackGuru refers to.Levelledout (talk) 17:36, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

Levelledout also supports an indef block of me. This was unproductive for Levelledout to suggest I should be indeffed. Most of Levelledout contributions to Misplaced Pages are just the e-cig pages. Levelledout clearly wrote "Whilst I didn't consider it edit-warring I do accept that it was not completely necessary to perform a wholesale revert." Let's hope Levelledout will keep his word and not make another wholesale revert. Let's give unprotection a try. One editor making a wholesale revert should not hold up the page IMO. With respect I did not have much choice but to say that. Are you claiming that you have never made a wholseale revert and also committing not to make any in the future? I doubt it but lets hope so. Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. - it's protection doesn't last very much longer, and there's absolutely nothing urgent about unprotecting it.
