The Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF) is a trade union based in Cairo, Egypt.

History and profile

ETUF has been formed in 1957 . The ETUF was, until 30 January 2011, the sole trade union federation in Egypt. It represents about 6 million workers in 24 unions. It is affiliated with the International Confederation of Arab Trade Unions, and the Organization of African Trade Union Unity. The ETUF is seeking for protect workers and their rights . ETUF owns a resort in the Mediterranean Sea which has about 360 apartments and a hotel ( Al-Ahlam Village ) , it has also a part from the The Egyptian Bank of Industrial Development and Workers as well as the workers University and many local federations in all provinces of Egypt . It is still the more powerful Workers Federation in Egypt despite emergence after revolution of 2011 of some other very weak independent federations that have no effect or legal recognition until the moment .

ETUF also maintains a worker's social association, and education association.
