::::::{{ping|Ironholds}} Thanks a lot! No really. I needed to agree that my edits were disruptive to show him a difference between his accusation of vandalism and this. In reality I don't think my edits were harmful to the project since user Gug01 thank me for such edits via notification. So, yes, in this case I am the injured party, because it was user Kingofaces43 who called my edits vandalistic, not the other way around. And I am being called that twice in my whole time being on Misplaced Pages. As far as competence goes, I am competent, but not in every field, and you know that.--] (]) 22:08, 31 March 2015 (UTC) |

Hello! Can you please tag the species of Gnomidolon as part of WikiProject Beetles (since they are Cerambycidae)? I would do it myself but am too busy tagging the categories. Gug01 (talk) 21:09, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Wikiproject Insect
Hi Mishae,
Please refrain from removing the Wikiproject Insects tag from insect related articles when added the Beetles tag. It's best to gain consensus on this widespread of a project removal at the project itself before implementing such a change. A discussion has been started here. Kingofaces43 (talk) 01:44, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
- Again, please refrain from removing the project tag. Your behavior is becoming disruptive now by trying to edit war our the tags while discussion is ongoing and it is violating the guidelines for interacting with other Wikiprojects as you've been made aware. This can result in a block if you continue to implement such widespread changes without consensus, so I highly suggest taking the time to slow down and just add the Beetles tag instead of replacing the Insect one. It's going to take a lot of work to undo this, and I definitely don't have time to do that today. Kingofaces43 (talk) 09:49, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
- This is the third time you've continued making the edits. Keep in mind you can be blocked for vandalism and violating WP:CONSENSUS by continuing to make edits like this while the talk page conversation is still ongoing. I don't want to do that, and we especially don't need things to be uncivil like this in such a small community. Please just follow WP:BRD (we're in the discussion phase now). The standard for settling contentious edits is to reach consensus on what to do first before continuing to make edits on what has been questioned. The only reason I haven't reverted your edits at this point is because I want to focus on reaching consensus, but you are not helping by engaging in this behavior. You've been here for awhile, so I would expect you would know this is improper behavior by now that violates Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Kingofaces43 (talk) 14:54, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Kingofaces43: O.K. Lets see, first of all, my edits are not vandalic, and your future comments will be removed by me per trolling. Second, I would like to say that this is the first time I am in discussion outside of my talkpage that is huge. Previously I was engaged in much smaller discussions and that went fine. I don't think any of my comments were uncivil. My initial language is Russian, so if I said something that in your language is uncivil, I would like to apologize in advance. Third, as for vandalic edits, I would like to ask users such @Ironholds: and @Koavf: for a review. Disruptive? Maybe. But there is a difference between vandalism (in which I never engage in) and this. And keep in mind, its your opinion that I am being vandalic, and such accusation will not be tolerated.--Mishae (talk) 18:03, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
- What on earth? First, the word is "vandalistic". Second, are you seriously getting up on your high horse to lecture Kingofaces43 for making "accusations" and "trolling"?
- Your edits are entirely inappropriate. Wikiproject tags do not resolve the lowest common project; they are overlapping sets. It is perfectly acceptable to have Wikiproject Insects tags on beetles, unless beetles were declared to not be beetles when I wasn't paying attention.
- So, you were making inappropriate edits that are harmful to the encyclopaedia and that even you agree are potentially disruptive. And in response to this, Kingofaces43 has been incredibly patient and polite in surfacing the problem and asking you to stop, over and over again, rather than taking it to a noticeboard to have you blocked. They have explained, repeatedly, that you are acting inappropriately, and explained why your behaviour is inappropriate, and your response is to call them a troll, inform them that you're going to revert any further attempts they make to stop you in your misbehaviour, and try to moralise at them as if you are the injured party here.
- I wouldn't be nearly so blunt or nearly so horrified if this wasn't precisely the same way I'd seen you respond to every single concern about your contributions that anyone has surfaced; people try to engage and you aggressively fight them, even though you're pretty much always in the wrong, before assuming bad faith and declaring them to be a troll or a vandal or deserving of a block or, or, or. At no point have I seen you actually respond to criticism by reading policies before replying, or by agreeing that something is a problem; you fight and you fight and you accelerate it up to me and the only thing that happens, every time, is that it turns out you're wrong and you've wasted a ton of another contributor's time of energy in being wrong.
- You want to know what I think of this situation, after every other situation you've pinged me about? Here's what I think. I think that if you don't seriously adjust how you respond to users acting in good faith and trying to correct your mistakes, you're going to get blocked, because a basic level of competence is required to edit. I think that if you keep removing those tags, I'll start the block discussion myself. And I think that I'm going to go over to Kingofaces43's talkpage, now, and give them a barnstar, for being far more patient in dealing with this than most users. Ironholds (talk) 19:53, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Ironholds: Thanks a lot! No really. I needed to agree that my edits were disruptive to show him a difference between his accusation of vandalism and this. In reality I don't think my edits were harmful to the project since user Gug01 thank me for such edits via notification.
