Hi Buchanan-Hermit, the following message was recieved at the unblock-en-l mailing list:
I was blocked by Buchanan-Hermit. Unable to contact by email, since this admin. HAS NO EMAIL ADDRESS! In such cases, since they can not be contacted, they should not block! Your user name or IP address has been blocked from editing. You were blocked by Buchanan-Hermit for the following reason (see our blocking policy): Autoblocked because your IP address has been recently used by "Betacummand". The reason given for Betacummand's block is: "vandal account". Your IP address is <removed>. The vandal account should be blocked, not a whole range of ISP addresses. Thanks, Keotaman
I explained AOLs methods, but could you please set an e-mail address if you continue blocking? E-mail is often the only way blocked users know how to contact the blocking admin, and your e-mail address will not be revealed unless you choose to reply via e-mail. You also may want to register a free account such as one at Gmail. Thanks for your consideration. Prodego 02:30, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Sure thing, and thanks. I personally have been lucky enough to avoid spam, but it is quite annoying. Happy editing! Prodego 02:41, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Re: Surrounding municipalities
Hey... how are things? Hope it's all sorting itself out. Anyways, I'm trying something new with the "Surrounding" boxes on the North Shore municipalities. See what you think - I'd like to leave it up for a few days to see if anyone has comments. For me, it helps to alleviate concerns about the "plain" nature of the boxes, and ups the usefulness of them. (BTW, not sure I agree with you about the DNV "northeast" placement in Vancouver's article, but let's leave it for a while as well and see if anyone else reacts.) --Ckatz 17:11, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hello again... sorry it took a few days to reply. I've looked at the fair use policy, and as best I can tell the images should be OK in this context. Fair use items aren't allowed in templates, as you mentioned. This is to avoid them being used outside of the article namespace. However, in the case of the highway signs, they are not a part of the template. Each sign is coded onto a particular page, and someone using the template will not get the fair use images. Thoughts? --Ckatz 04:33, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
Thank you for your help. --Flyingcheese 09:22, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
I don't believe I ever thanked you for reverting the vandalism on my user page. I appreciate it; thanks. — Knowledge Seeker দ 07:32, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Your note on the Psych page
Yo. I agree with your assessment of the comments as original research--I didn't want to offend, and I'm kinda new here, so I couched it a little nicer. Anyway, your userpage freakin' rocks. And I stand in utter amazement.Transcendentalstate 21:04, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Blah. I tried to check recent RfA votes, didn't even see the tags. Well, a-late-but-sincere well done anyway. ;P Kedi the tramp (talk • contribs • count) 17:43, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

BC Wikiproject format idea
Hi. I know we haven't officializedd the BC WikiProject yet but I wanted to show you the revamp that was done to Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Indigenous peoples of North America by the incredible Phædriel ♥ tell me. Suggest it be adapted to both the Vancouver and BC WikiProject ideas; makes mass amounts of types of input/issues way more manageable, doncha think?Skookum1 02:08, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Response to your comment on my talk page: well, so far only you and me are listed as participants in the draft project. I'll try and get Heqs, Fishhead64 and Usgnus at least to join; IMO the same organizational layout, or something like it, would be handy on Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Vancouver, too, so I'll post a similar suggestion over there. I like the way you laid out your user page; I think Phaedriel is going to revamp mine for me, huge and unwieldy and rambling like it is (of course, it being mine...) but I really admire people who can work out all the Wiki codes to make such spiffy looking things.....Skookum1 07:55, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Rick Ankiel
(B-H note: move post to correct heading) Buchanan-Hermit, you edited and WARNED me for changes I made to Rick Ankiel's wikipage. What I entered was entirely true and I was there to witness the actions. It is important to note his history of violence. It was not nonsensical, I was there when it happened. I would appreciate it if you would refrain from claiming vandalism when you have no idea of what you speak.
Sorry, I did not post my message properly before. You edited my contribution to the Rick Ankiel wikipage when you have no idea of the situation. What I wrote was true, I was there to witness the actions. It is an anticdotal account that is a microcosm for the entire downfall of Ankiel's career. I would appreciate it if you retracted your warning. I wanted to tell a story I knew of Ankiel growing up in the same area (fort pierce, FL).

I could use some help with Journalist (talk · contribs). He made a personal attack on my talk page. I held him to a higher standard, and he reverted that spam link at University of Toronto (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views). Ardenn 03:20, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Vancouver Wikipedians Meetup
Greetings, you're getting this spam (courtesy of Tawkerbot) because you were listed on Misplaced Pages:WikiProject_Vancouver. In short, we're trying to have a meetup and we'd appreciate it if you'd join our Yahoo Group setup to figure out a time/place that would work. You can find the group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vancouver_wikipedians/. If you have any questions feel free to make a post there or on the WikiProject page.
Happy Editing!

Vancouver school pics needing articles
In reply to your comment over at WT:EiC:
- Note that prior to archiving, I moved the list of images to the project page. See WP:EiC#Pictures without articles for the new image gallery. --Stephane Charette 11:09, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Talk page cats
I was going to put a cropped version of the ceiling cat at the top of your talk page next to Maneki neko, but taking a quick peek through the history, I see that it wouldn't be the first time someone does that...! I'll limit myself to this comment instead. :) --Stephane Charette 16:27, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out. Really sorry about that revert. I immediately went and checked on TSN and didn't think to check Anaheim's website. I'll be sure to be more careful next time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Resident Lune (talk • contribs)

Be happy!
Dear Wikipedian, you have acheived a considerable number of edits on wikipedia. This can mean, that you devote a large proportion of your free time to improving the articles on this free encyclopedia. I would like to remind you, however, that Misplaced Pages is not the best thing that happened to mankind since 2000, it is just a mere internet project, and there are lots of other things you can do, if you want to serve the community you live in. There might be opportunities in your local municipality, that would allow you to volunteer your time and efforts to help the diseased, disabled, or otherwise handicapped people. There are also organisations, that would use your time and work to help people in areas of world, where people have never actually seen a computer in their entire life, and don't know what internet or wikipedia is. Such organisations target hunger, diseases, or the lack of proper education in those areas. Please, try to reconsider, if you donate your time and efforts to the community that needs them the most. |
