CSI: Cyber was originally introduced during a 2014 episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The series premiered as a mid-season replacement on March 4, 2015.
Created by Carol Mendelsohn, Ann Donahue and Anthony E. Zuiker, executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Pam Veasey, and starring Patricia Arquette, Cyber follows the work of Mary Aiken inspired Special Agent Avery Ryan, who leads an elite FBI division tasked with working on the dark web. Focusing on the psychological aspects of computer forensics, Ryan heads a team including Elijah Mundo, Daniel Krumitz, Brody Nelson and Raven Ramirez, while reporting to FBI Assistant Director Simon Sifter.
In May 2015, CBS ordered a second season of CSI: Cyber, in which Ted Danson will join the cast as his CSI: Crime Scene Investigation character D.B. Russell.
