Islam in Scandinavia

Information icon Hello, I'm Cordless Larry. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Islam in Scandinavia, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 10:35, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Regarding this edit, yes, we do need a source. You also seem to be labelling File:Viking towns of Scandinavia.jpg as "Muslims towns of Scandinavia", which makes no sense. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:10, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
i gave a source, and the map i know what it is about but it happen to match what i want to show which is the concentration of Muslim population in Scandinavia so it is the same map why there is need to change it?--Holy islamic state of the Germanic Nation (talk) 11:16, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for providing a source in your edit summary. However, the source does not appear to support the figures that you've used in the article. You also need to include sources in the article itself, not edit summaries, following the instructions at Help:Referencing for beginners. You also need to cite a source for the towns where there are large Muslim populations. Please see Misplaced Pages:Verifiability. It seems too much of a coincidence that these are exactly the same towns as the Viking ones on that map. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:16, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
i have already put source in the article itself, about the map it is the only one i can find if you have any other please feel free to replace it?--Holy islamic state of the Germanic Nation (talk) 11:24, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
As I've explained, the source doesn't contain the population figures that you have included in the article. It is also unlikely to be considered a reliable source, as it appears to be self-published. As for the map, I don't know of one to replace it. You are best advised to remove all unsourced material, including the map, from the article, until you find appropriate sources. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:29, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
i have put another source. which is now two sources. plus the number i give it is an estimated not an official because they do not make census based on race or religion so we have to put estimate we do not need a source for an estimate do we?--Holy islamic state of the Germanic Nation (talk) 11:34, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
Yes, we need to cite a source for an estimate. If it is your own estimate, then that is a case of original research, which is not allowed on Misplaced Pages. All Misplaced Pages content needs to be based on what published, reliable sources state. Can I suggest that you stop editing, read the policies I have linked to above, and then ask for advice at the at Misplaced Pages:Teahouse/Questions before proceeding with further edits? If you keep reverting at Islam in Scandinavia, you are going to get yourself blocked from editing. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:41, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
I HAVE already put THREE 3 SOURCES in the ARTICLES please read them carefully before threatening others to be blocked !--Holy islamic state of the Germanic Nation (talk) 11:54, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
As we have explained, the sources are not reliable and they do not contain the statistics that you have added to the article. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:56, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
As I HAVE already explained there are no official census based on religion in those countries so we need an estimated number not an OFFICIAL number BECAUSE As I HAVE already explained there are NOT an OFFICIAL census on religion As I HAVE already explained!--Holy islamic state of the Germanic Nation (talk) 12:04, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
I understand, but that doesn't mean you can make the estimates up. If there are no estimates that you can source, they shouldn't be in the article. Cordless Larry (talk) 12:05, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
the first and third sources gives an estimated number but from 1997 so it is a little bit older if you would like to edit it as to match the source please feel free to do it but do not remove it without reason--Holy islamic state of the Germanic Nation (talk) 12:09, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Image use

I have concerns about the use of File:Viking_towns_of_Scandinavia.jpg in this article, especially when you give it the caption Muslims towns of Scandinavia. Please comment. -- Sam Sailor 11:40, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

As I've said, i have already explain it before please read carefully before commenting!--Holy islamic state of the Germanic Nation (talk) 11:43, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
As I've pointed out, the use of the image is inappropriate. What is a "Muslim town"? What criteria is being used to decide this? Second, the map is actually a map of Viking settlements. What about places with large Muslim populations such as Malmö? You can't just use a map of Viking settlements and give it a completely unrelated title to misrepresent it. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:46, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Sourcing § Demographics

One link, https://themuslimissue.wordpress.com/2012/10/08/muslim-population-in-sweden-and-denmark-doubled-in-14-years/ is dead, the other http://www.muslimpopulation.com/Europe/Denmark/Muslims%20In%20Scandinavia.php is hardly a reliable source and does not support the figures you write. And those figures do not match those we have in Islam by country. -- Sam Sailor 11:45, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

The Wordpress link works for me, but it's not a reliable or neutral source. See the site's about page. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:51, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. I noticed that your username, "Holy islamic state of the Germanic Nation", may not meet Misplaced Pages's username policy because seems to be the name of an organisation. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. I have no idea if there really is an organisation with the same name as your username but it sounds like the name of an organisation, which is not permitted. DanielRigal (talk) 10:45, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

thanks for the note. it is not a name of an organisation i know about Misplaced Pages:Username policy i just made it up. the name basically is to show my Contributions willing to Misplaced Pages. which is about Semitic-Germanic cultural heritage, Jewish, Islamic, Bangladeshi....etc.--Holy islamic state of the Germanic Nation (talk) 11:02, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
