Genetically a combination of Vulcan and Talaxian, the resulting individual possessed the memories and knowledge of both Tuvok and Neelix, but had a single consciousness and an identity distinct from either of his progenitors, and therefore named himself "Tuvix" (after rejecting "Neelvok").
