Garrett created his first YouTube channel "Stampylongnose" on date=3 August 2006. Pretty soon, Garrett began to create stop motion animations as well as short movies with his friends. Once he left high school he did video production courses in both college and university and his channel became home to work projects he either helped create or acted in. Around this time Garrett spent hours watching gaming videos on YouTube as "Let's Plays" had just began to get popular. This drove Garrett to order a cheap capture-card on the internet so that he could begin to record game-play from his Xbox which broke after his first video. However, he soon ordered a better capture-card and was ready to record game-play commentaries on games such as "Call of Duty:Black Ops". He would often do over five takes until he was happy with his recording. Garrett was then approached by a company called "Gamesthirst.com" to make a video review of a new release called "Homefront" Garrett finished the video in a day and the company asked him to do video production for them full time. Garrett quoted to this "I felt happier then a cat in a cake shop!" Over the next year or so he continued to create content for "Gamesthirst.com" including reviews, previews, guides, top fives, montages, news, and more. Around this time Garrett created a few original series he was very proud of at the time. A competitive "Halo Reach" tournament that was ran by himself and a show called "Is it worth it" where he reviewed old games such as "Gears of War" to see if they were still worth buying cheap today. Pretty soon Garrett gradually switched from "Call of Duty" to "Halo" and became a regular contributor to the "Halo" community "IHaloZone" at this time he averaged less than 50 views per video and had around 700 subscribers. However, this did not bother him, he simply enjoyed making videos for the fun of it. Soon however, as Garrett reached his final few months of university he began to lose all his free time as he worked in a pub every weekend. He, therefore, announced that he would stop making game-play commentaries. Instead of quitting YouTube altogether, Garrett created a new channel named "Stampylonghead" to upload "Let's Play" videos to because they would take much less time to make. Around this time Garrett's friends began to play the video-game "Minecraft" on the Xbox, and (Not wanting to be left out) he downloaded it, too. Garrett recorded his first ever time playing and soon created "Stampy's Lovely World" which would become the main icon of his channel. Garrett soon realized that he had become to get an audience. This kept Garrett motivated to make more and better videos. Garrett soon put a stop to foul language and adult themed games as he noticed many younger viewers had began to watch. After a while, Garrett dug deep into the "Minecraft" community and made videos with other YouTubers one of which was named David Spencer who created the "IBallisticSquid" channel. Garrett and Spencer met in January 2013 and planned to do a couple videos together for fun. The two quickly became close friends in and out of videos and started several series together across both of their channels. As Garrett's channel grew, he uploaded videos on various different games including one "Minecraft" video every single day. On date=2 December 2013, (At the peak of his popularity) Garrett was given an Email from "Google" informing him that his channel had been terminated without reason. Garrett went straight to "Facebook" to inform everyone of what had happened. Garrett stated that he would fight as hard as he could to get his channel back and that if he couldn't he would start a new channel and continue where he left off. Quickly, a YouTuber by the name of "AmyLee33" started a petition to help raise awareness and it got thousands of signatures. Articles and blogs began to discuss the situation and the "#SaveStampy" began to trend on twitter right under "#PeoplesChoice" and "#HeresToChristmas" A friend of Garrett's and fellow YouTuber "LDShadowLady" passed Garrett's information to a friend of hers who worked at "Google" the man Emailed Googles accounts team and explained the situation to them. By the evening of the same day he managed to get Garrett's account fully restored and all strikes removed. After that Garrett was back up and running and went into the new year with 900,000 subscribers.
