Ragib, thanks for your help at what is now 2013 Dhaka protests. I hadn't checked out the Asian Human Rights Commission report in any detail but I agree that citing somebody who's citing "internet reports" is dodgy. My main concern at that point was removing the completely ridiculous stuff from the article. I kept the 2,500 figure mostly so that people wouldn't complain of bias from just quoting the BBC source. Somebody else has put the link to AHRC back into the article and, while I removed their text, I left the link: I figure people are just going to keep adding it so maybe if it's already there with no comment, they'll be happy. (I've put your talk page on my watchlist so easiest to reply here, I think, and keep our discussion in one place.) Dricherby (talk) 20:45, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

List of Zilla Schools of Bangladesh

I am looking for someone who has knowledge on the topic. You have worked on Bangladesh related topics. Probably you can help. Solomon7968 (talk) 13:46, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

What do you want to know about this topic @User:Solomon7968? --Ragib (talk) 21:39, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

I was thinking of a chronological list of all schools in Bengal. It is good to then start from the zilla schools because they are the first schools. Well I am also interested in Politics of Bangladesh and Politics of West Bengal and we could not get citations for some Very important topics. May be you could help. Solomon7968 (talk) 21:43, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Solomon7968, you can find the chronology by checking Banglapedia. Just google with the school's name and the keyword Banglapedia, you'll get a page on the school. For example Rangpur Zilla School is here.
Some schools are old but not Zilla schools. For example Pogose School in Dhaka, the Collegiate Schools (e.g. Chittagong Collegiate School. --Ragib (talk) 21:50, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

The article previously had a facebook link. I removed it as per guidelines though it lists 16 zilla schools. Ok but I could not find any sources for a biogaphy. Can you help. Read the link and please let me know if you have any info. Solomon7968 (talk) 22:00, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your suggestion in the Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics#2013_Bangladesh_India_WikiProjects_dispute_resolution. As per your suggestion, a person can be described as X is/was a Bangladeshi Y if he/she lives/lived in Bangladesh with a Bangladeshi citizenship, even though he/she might have been born in British India (pre-1947) or East Pakistan (1947-71). By this logic Chandravati cannot be describe as Chandravati was a Bangladeshi poet, because she never lived in Bangladesh with Bangladeshi citizenship. Hence Category:Bangladeshi poets is not applicable for Chandravati. Same logic would apply for Michael Madhusudan Dutt and Nabin Chandra Sen. Please confirm if my understanding of your suggestion is correct. BengaliHindu (talk) 05:03, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Bangladesh symbols

Somehow National symbols of Bangladesh are deleted, including the national emblem etc. see: https://commons.wikimedia.org/File:National_emblem_of_Bangladesh.svg I think these files need to be restored. As far as I remember, these SVG files were user contributed, not scrapped from government resources. File source problem with File:Dinesh Gupta 1.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Dinesh Gupta 1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Misplaced Pages. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Better source request for File:Badal gupta.jpg

Thanks for your upload to Misplaced Pages:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 03:16, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

File:Badal gupta.jpg missing description details

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 04:34, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

Bangladesh

Hi, Ragib! I want to thank you for your decision to protect List of Presidents of Bangladesh. That article was a target for vandalism and adding of incorrect data for quite some time... I think some other articles, like Bangladeshi Declaration of Independence, President of Bangladesh and Ziaur Rahman should also be protected, they also were targets for various vandalism. Cheers! --Sundostund (talk) 12:41, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity

Information icon Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in more than one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, and that you have not been inactive for a three-year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three-year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Reminder: Please sign new Wikimedia confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information by 31 December

This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.

I wanted to follow-up on an message I sent you in September regarding the need for you to sign a confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 in order to maintain your access from Wikimedia to nonpublic information, and specifically to the OTRS system.

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are transitioning to the new policy.

An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.

The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that anyone with access to nonpublic information sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this message because you have access to nonpublic information by way of the OTRS system and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015, you will lose your OTRS access.

Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign

If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum@wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain your access to nonpublic information. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.

If you wish to stop receiving these notices, you may remove yourself from this list. Please note that doing so will not prevent you from losing OTRS rights and access after the 31 December 2015 deadline.

Thank you,
