The other option would be to go edit stuff that you are not so passionate about - like maybe some more Dr. Who articles (I love that show) - and learn more about how about this place works. And come back the blood-type diet when you are more experienced. I ''know'' that you will approach it very differently when you have more experience under your belt. Anyway, there is the advice. You can take it or leave it, and I would be happy to discuss any of this. == Discretionary sanctions warning ==

This is part of the "strangeness" of Misplaced Pages. As I mentioned above, we have a ~kind~ of rule of law here, and the "supreme court" for certain kinds of issues, is called "the Arbitration Committee" (or "arbcom" for short). There are some issues in Misplaced Pages that are really controversial, and have led to long and ugly "wars". The editors involved in those conflicts often ''behaved'' badly, and Arbcom is where those kinds of conflicts end up, to deal with the behavioral issues. In the course of working out those conflicts, Arbcom often leaves in place what are called "discretionary sanctions" on the topic, since (as I said above) there is really nothing new under the sun here, and old battles flame up again. The discretionary sanctions help the community prevent flareups from becoming big conflicts again.

There are about twenty such topics. Some will be obvious to you -- things like the Arab-Isreali conflict have been fought out here, too. Another one of them, is what we call "pseudoscience". The blood-type diet falls in that topic. I am providing you formal notice here of the discretionary sanctions. Please do read the links here, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

Hi

hi Spellmagi - you are brand new to Misplaced Pages. Again, welcome! I noticed that you are fiercely advocating at the Blood type diet Talk page to make certain changes.

I don't know if you feel like taking some advice, but here it is anyway!  :)

It is clear that you feel very, very strongly about this diet. And you really want to add some content, and the editors who have worked on that article in the past, have rejected your changes so far.

About your passion. I get that. A lot of people are drawn to Misplaced Pages because they feel strongly about something. This passion is a double-edged sword, in that it drives people to contribute. But it can create a certain... urgency, that is really unhelpful in Misplaced Pages. There is a lot to learn about editing Misplaced Pages -- especially editing Misplaced Pages content about health. (And the blood-type diet, is very much about health.) The arguments you are making at Talk:Blood-type diet are not good ones. They really don't make any sense. Misplaced Pages really does have a kind of "rule of law" but you cannot lawyer it -- you need to understand the heart of it. Please see WP:CLUE, which explains this.

You really have two choices here. You could take a breath, and realize that you are new here, and this is kind of a strange place that you are not familiar with and that you have some learning to do, and change course. Or you could continue as you have been. I have seen a lot of editors come and go, and please hear me when I say that if you continue as you have been, you are going to get really frustrated and angry and you will either leave Misplaced Pages angrily, thinking this place is awful, or the community will throw you out. (I am not threatening you at all! I am just telling you what I have seen happen a zillion times. There is really little that is new under the sun here).

The other option would be to go edit stuff that you are not so passionate about - like maybe some more Dr. Who articles (I love that show) - and learn more about how about this place works. And come back the blood-type diet when you are more experienced. I know that you will approach it very differently when you have more experience under your belt. Anyway, there is the advice. You can take it or leave it, and I would be happy to discuss any of this. Best regards Jytdog (talk) 04:20, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Discretionary sanctions warning

This is part of the "strangeness" of Misplaced Pages. As I mentioned above, we have a ~kind~ of rule of law here, and the "supreme court" for certain kinds of issues, is called "the Arbitration Committee" (or "arbcom" for short). There are some issues in Misplaced Pages that are really controversial, and have led to long and ugly "wars". The editors involved in those conflicts often behaved badly, and Arbcom is where those kinds of conflicts end up, to deal with the behavioral issues.

This message contains important information about an administrative situation on Misplaced Pages. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date.

Please carefully read this information:
