::I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. It is true you should not use WP to publicize anything. You are currently ], meaning that we at WP know you as the ''user'' Russell.mo (or perhaps Apostle, or whatever else you choose to sign with). Nobody will think that Russell.mo or Apostle is your real name in real life. If Russell.mo happens to be the real name of someone else, then it is conceivably possible that he could run into problems in the future. For a similar example, if there is a real person whose real name is "Semantic Mantis", then they might have a problem with people thinking that they spend a lot of time on the WP reference desks, even though they do not (I do, but my real name is not Semantic Mantis). Does that make sense? Generally, I don't worry too much about anything I do here causing problems in real life. I'd generally advise you in the same way, keeping in mind that I also obey WP's most important rules (don't talk about personal info of yourself or others, ], etc.) But I am not a lawyer, this is not legal advice, and I don't even know what jurisdiction you're talking about :) ] (]) 20:34, 27 July 2016 (UTC) |

- I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. It is true you should not use WP to publicize anything. You are currently pseudonymous, meaning that we at WP know you as the user Russell.mo (or perhaps Apostle, or whatever else you choose to sign with). I'd generally advise you in the same way, keeping in mind that I also obey WP's most important rules (don't talk about personal info of yourself or others, WP:BLP, etc.) But I am not a lawyer, this is not legal advice, and I don't even know what jurisdiction you're talking about :) SemanticMantis (talk) 20:34, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
