Summary

Media data and Non-free use rationale
Description United States Army Captain Humayun Khan.
Author or
copyright owner
Unknown
Source (WP:NFCC#4) Original publication: Unknown

Immediate source: The image is everywhere, but this file is from https://obamadiary.files.wordpress.com/2016/07/capthumayunkhanus-army_rev24095411925.jpg?w=863&h=485

Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) Humayun Khan (soldier)
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) for visual identification of the person in question, at the top of his/her biographical article
Not replaceable with
free media because (WP:NFCC#1)
Since the tribute to this soldier at the 2016 Democratic National Convention, this image has been used all over. A few sources credit "family handout"/"supplied", but others, like the BBC, credit "US Army". If it is indeed a US Army photo, it would almost certainly be in the public domain, but I haven't been able to confirm that. For that reason I !voted to delete from Commons at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Captain-Humayun-Saqib-Muazzam-Khan.jpg, but this seems like valid fair use for Misplaced Pages. The person is deceased, and a search for a free image has been unfruitful. The problem is I'm not sure who to credit. The "source" field was just the first decent quality version that popped up in a Google Image search, and as I said, it's unclear where exactly this came from.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) A single, basic portrait of a deceased person for whom it does not seem there is a free alternative. It is not a very high-quality version and will be used only in the article about the subject.
Respect for
commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2)
The image has been distributed widely to the press for writing about Humayun Khan following the DNC speech.
Other information The subject of the photograph has been deceased since: 2004. See the replaceability field for more information.
