{{Portal:Biography/Intro/Image}}A ''']''' is a detailed description or account of someone's life. More than a list of basic facts (education, work, relationships, and death), a biography also portrays a subject's experience of these events. Unlike a profile or ] (]), a biography presents a subject's life story, highlighting various aspects of his or her life, including intimate details of experience, and may include an analysis of a subject's personality.

Shiran Gooneratne is a Judge of the High Court of Sri Lanka. Before being appointed a judge he served as a State Counsel in the Attorney General's department of Sri Lanka. Judge Gooneratne came into prominence because of his lone decision to acquit all suspects in the murder trial of Sri Lankan politician Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra. It was alleged, before the verdict was announced, that Judge Gooneratne was involved in a conspiracy to acquit the main suspect Duminda Silva, who was alleged to have strong connections to the drug trade in Sri Lanka.
