American Breed was an American rock group formed in ] and disbanded in ]. They are most famous for the hits ] and ]. The American Breed was an American interracial rock group formed in ] and disbanded in ]. The group was formed in Cicero, Chicago calling themselves ].

Original members of the group were:
] - Vocals
] - Bass
] - Guitar
] - Drums
All members were of the Greater Chicago area.

As Gary & The Nite Lites they began fairly successful in Chicago and even put out one single. Soon after the group went through several changes. The label was changed to Acta and the group itself renamed to the American Breed. Two new members were also added by 1968 inlcuding ] - Keyboards, and ] - Drums.

The greatest success for the American Breed occurred between 1967 and 1968. During this time they put out five records on the charts including ], ] and ]. It was Bend Me, Shape Me that enjoyed the greatest success climbing to #5 in 1968.

A year after the group disbanded. Fischer went on to from ] and would later marry ].

The American Breed was an American interracial rock group formed in 1966 and disbanded in 1969. The group was formed in Cicero, Chicago calling themselves Gary & The Nite Lites.

Original members of the group were: Gary Loizzo - Vocals Chuck Gilbert - Bass Al Ciner - Guitar Lee Graziano - Drums All members were of the Greater Chicago area.

As Gary & The Nite Lites they began fairly successful in Chicago and even put out one single. Soon after the group went through several changes. The label was changed to Acta and the group itself renamed to the American Breed. Two new members were also added by 1968 inlcuding Kevin Murphy - Keyboards, and Andre Fischer - Drums.

The greatest success for the American Breed occurred between 1967 and 1968. During this time they put out five records on the charts including Step Out Of Your Mind, Green Light and Bend Me, Shape Me. It was Bend Me, Shape Me that enjoyed the greatest success climbing to #5 in 1968.

A year after the group disbanded. Fischer went on to from Chaka Khan and would later marry Natalie Cole.
