Takashi Koshimoto(越本 隆志, born January 5, 1971 in Fukuoka-shi Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese professional boxer in the featherweight (126 lb) division. He is a former WBC world featherweight champion.

Professional Career

Koshimoto's professional record is 39-1-2 (with 17 wins by KO).
On November 3, 1992 Koshimoto debuted as a professional boxer in Japan. On January 29, 2006 Koshimoto beat Injin Chi who is a South Korean boxer, for the WBC world featherweight title. On July 30, 2006 He lost by 7th round TKO, losing his WBC title to Rodolfo López in Fukuoka, Japan. Koshimoto was hospitalized after the fight, and promptly announced his retirement. He retired with a career record of 39-2-2 with 17 KO's. Koshimoto was managed and trained by his own father, Hidetake Koshimoto.
