Jhonny González (born September 15, 1981 in Pachuca, Hidalgo) is a Mexican professional boxer. He is currently the World Boxing Organization(WBO) bantamweight champion. He has a record of 33-5 (with 28 wins by KO).

On October 29, 2005 González beat Ratanachai Sor Vorapin by TKO on 7th rounds, for the WBO world championship title.
On May 27, 2006, he defeated Fernando Montiel who is the current WBO Junior-bantamweight champion, by a 2-1 split decision.

González is promoted by the Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions Inc. Gonzalez lost to WBC super-bantamweight champion Israel Vázquez on september 16, 2006 by knockout.

  • González's first name is not "J-o-h-n-n-y" but "J-h-o-n-n-y", because his father made a mistake in the spelling when the father registered a birth to the public office. He and his family are using to this spelling as "Jhonny".
