This Kind Of Punishment

Hey, nice to know someone else appreciates it. I was planning on spending the evening working on similar articles (see Peter Jefferies for example), but I think my girlfriend is about to drag me off to a party. Cnwb 10:42, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

Felony Murder Doctrine

Hi. When you create a redirect you need to see where it's going to go. In this case "Felony Murder Doctrine" went to "Felony murder doctrine" which was also a redirect. That's a double redirect and doesn't work. What you needed to do was make the redirect go right to "Felony murder". Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 11:28, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, sorry 'bout that. I looked at "Felony murder doctrine" and found it to be a real page - but I had looked carelessly; of course, it was the "Felony murder" page that I was seeing, as produced by the redirect. I realized the error a minute or so later, but by then, you'd corrected it. Thanks. Bobby P. Smith Sr. Jr. 11:31, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
I note you tagged the page with a general "attention" tag. Could you please be more specific? Thanks. Robert A West 11:43, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
added some notes on what needs to be put in. I wish I was a lawyer, because it seems like wikipedia's "murder" and "homicide" pages lack a lot of info Bobby P. Smith Sr. Jr. 11:57, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. IANAL, but I do contribute to legal topics -- my theory is that non-specialist input often avoids turgid prose. I will take a crack next weekend -- too little time now, but feel free to try. In the meantime, feel free.
I suspect that the reason third-degree murder is not discussed much is that it is a relatively recent innovation, and rules differ from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. For example, depraved indifference murder is second-degree in New York, but not IIRC in Florida, and some states didn't recognize the concept last time I checked. Felony murder used to be first-degree almost everywhere, but I think that has changed as well. Translation, I need to hit the library.
BTW, please be sure to add your ~~~~ to any comments you put on a talk page. Robert A.West | Talk 12:08, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Great, it'll be nice to fix up some of the law pages here. I'll do some research to try to figure out how to fix/add whatever can be fixed/added without a need for expertise. Bobby P. Smith Sr. Jr. 12:15, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Your Userpage

Hmm, looks familiar. Oh, wait, it's my userpage (w/some alterations as you said). Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Also, I just realized that I never answered your question you left on my talkpage. If you are looking for something to sign up on, try this. The Ungovernable Force 05:53, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Phobias

Sure. Just noticed that they seemed like definitions when i was stub sorting. would be very interested in learning more about them, though! ConDem 05:48, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Speedies

Hi Bobby, great to see an inclusionist with speedy delete tendencies! Tell me if you're up on all this but I wonder if you could do with a look at the exact criteriae that make up the speedy delete policy (WP:CSD), even though an article is really really bad and an obvious candidate for deletion it doesnt always fit neatly into one of the speedy categories. It's best to name the section on the speedy act (eg G1, A7 etc.) you think a given article fits into when voting because people will call you on it, otherwise "Strong Delete" is often more appropriate than speedy. Now get deleting! Deizio 01:34, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Cool, thanks; I hadn't looked at the WP:CSD since I started checking the AfD page, nor had I realized/remembered how specific the categories were. Since I'll probably keep watching AfD (already seen too many potentially decent articles corralled into delete piles), I'm gonna keep that page on hand so I can quote chapter/verse when an actual Speedy Delete is needed. Thanks again Bobby P. Smith Sr. Jr. 09:41, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

RFC

Hi, would you be intreseted in taking a look at this: Misplaced Pages:Requests for comment/Jersey Devil?--Striver 12:22, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

CKX, Inc.

Hey, many thanks for the cleanup on CKX, Inc.. Great work and much appreciated. Gwernol 00:19, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

No problem. I'm doing a bunch of cleanups on AfD today; I'm always willing to redo an article to keep it from the gaping maw. I'll probably fix the rest of it up a bit later :) Bobby P. Smith Sr. Jr. 00:21, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Robert Christgau

Re: Christgau. I know him a bit (though not well). If you get the rewrite done in the next few weeks, I should be seeing him at a conference in late April (unless work takes me abroad at that time, which it just might). Anyway, if you get the rewrite done by then and we actually have something pretty solid, I can probably get him to take a look at it and let us know if he considers any of it factually inaccurate. -- Jmabel | Talk 02:22, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

EMP Pop Conference indeed. It will be interesting to see how it is this year. I assume that Eric Weisbard, who has curated it since its founding, has moved to L.A., because I know that his wife Ann Powers has. (Hmm, just glanced at the article about her, needs updating, I'll do that.) So I don't really know who is minding the store... - Jmabel | Talk 00:49, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
Aha! they are staying through the conference: . Given how EMP is doing economically, and that they are leaving, I bet this is the last one. - Jmabel | Talk 01:03, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

I take it this is not happening in time, since the conference begins in four days. - Jmabel | Talk 22:44, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Article listed for deletion

Hi Bobby,

It's Primetime from the Mayberry Mall AFD. I noticed that you were an article inclusionist, also, so I was wondering if you could do me a huge favor and possibly place a vote here: Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Embarazada? I worked hard on it, even citing my sources. If you could, I would be greatly in your debt.

Best wishes,

Primetime 21:23, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

May userbox policy poll

Hi. You're a supporter of userboxes, and there's currently a policy poll going on about userboxes that might solve the speedy deletion issue. I encourage you to vote if you haven't already. Thank you. Dtm142 21:18, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Recency principle

Hey there. You said you could contribute to the article Recency principle a while ago. I have very little else to add. I had heard of it and know its ideas, but someone more familiar with psychology would be needed to improve upon what i wrote.

Anyway, if you are able to improve the article, i would be very happy. If not, no worry. Thank you! --Kevin L'Huillier 03:20, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
