== i did not make these changes!!! ==

This is the second time I've received a message from Misplaced Pages to the effect that I have made some sort of editorial change to a page. I have done NO editing on Misplaced Pages!!! What gives? How could anyone use my computer or IP address or whatever to do so? Or are you just confusing my address for a similar one? I am not computer-sophisticated, and am really, really concerned that someone is using my identity.

Please advise. My email address is lynndellahoward@gmail.com

Tech News: 2017-15

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.

Recent changes

Changes this week

  • Some older web browsers will not be able to use JavaScript on Wikimedia wikis from this week. If you have an old web browser on your computer you can upgrade to a newer version.
  • New filters for Recent changes will come to Wikidata and Persian, Russian, Turkish and French Misplaced Pages on 11 April. The schedule has been changed to fix the user intent prediction filters for some wikis. User intent prediction means the filter tries to make it easier for editors to determine if the edit was made in good faith or not. Other wikis will get it later.
  • The list of special characters in the wikitext editor and the visual editor will now have a group of Canadian Aboriginal characters.
  • The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 11 April. It will be on non-Misplaced Pages wikis and some Wikipedias from 12 April. It will be on all wikis from 13 April (calendar).

Meetings

  • You can join the next meeting with the VisualEditor team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on 11 April at 19:00 (UTC). See how to join.

Future changes

  • Because of a data centre test you will be able to read but not edit the wikis for 20 to 30 minutes on 19 April and 3 May. This will start at 14:00 (UTC). You might lose edits if you try to save during this time. You can read more about this.
  • RevisionSlider will change how you move between revisions. This will be available on the test wiki from 11 April. It will come to other wikis later if users like the change. You can test it and give feedback.

I tried editing the murusade wikipage but the ClueBot re-directed it to the hawiye page

April 2017

Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Murusade has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made was constructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this message from your talk page, and then make the edit again. For help, take a look at the introduction. The following is the log entry regarding this message: Murusade was changed by AwAqoonyahan (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.856099 on 2017-04-13T20:35:44+00:00 . Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 20:35, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Hello Rich Smith,

I hope your well. Above is the message I received from ClueBot NG after I tried editing wikipedia.org/murusade (which someone set to automatically direct to the wikipedia.org/hawiye page) stopping it from redirecting it to the hawiye article and editing the page but the Bot keeps undoing my work.

The murusade article is supposed to be a STAND OUT article that members of the public can benefit from; the page should NOT be directed to another page.

Can you please make the wikipedia.org/murusade an independent article page and so I will be able to make the appropriate edits

Thank You — Preceding unsigned comment added by AwAqoonyahan (talkcontribs) 20:48, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
