	Though Saddleworth itself has been situatuated in the administrative county of the ] since the change of the boundaries in 1974, and no longer within the administrative county of The ], it still lies within the traditional boundary of Yorkshire; a fact which The Saddleworth White Rose Society feels many people in Saddleworth are unaware of. It therefore aims to change this by organising events in the region, most notably on ] - ], and the publication of its newsletter.

The Saddleworth White Rose Society is an organisation dedicated to raising awareness of Saddleworth's situation within the historic boundaries of Yorkshire. Saddleworth was made part of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham in Greater Manchester under the Local Government Act 1972, and the group, associated with the more general Yorkshire Ridings Society, promotes the idea that it is still a part of Yorkshire.
