Apparently he looks like John Prescott but many think he resembles Ted Bovis, and instead of saying HI-DI-Hi most of his listeners whish he would say Bye-De-Bye.

Jon Gaunt is an outspoken morning talk show presenter for talkSPORT. Earlier, he used to work at BBC Three Counties Radio and BBC WM. He then moved onto BBC London. After leaving BBC London he took a new position with BBC Coventry & Warwickshire but left after a month because of BBC editorial guidelines, which prevent its journalists working for other media (he was writing a column in The Sun newspaper).

He continues to write a column for the The Sun London newspaper and hosts a mid-morning current affairs show on talkSPORT, where he likes his listeners to refer to him as "Gaunty" and he often refers to them as "Big Boy". Gaunt, though seen by many as highly outspoken, commands a large radio audience.

Sony Awards

Gaunt was awarded one Sony Radio Academy Gold Awards in 2001: News Broadcaster Award for his work on the BBC Three Counties Radio Breakfast Show.
