I see on my watchlist that my Sockpuppet page has a new entry...

I have also seen the changes of the account suspected of being me at "Esau" and "Canaan", and if I had been able I would have reverted them, because they are inaccurate.

That account is evidently someone interested in associating Biblical "Esau" with modern Europeans and "Canaan" with modern Africans. These types of things are known to be associated with "British Israelism" and similar garbage, which are things I do NOT accept - although I recognize what they are and would always revert such material myself. So no, that is not me. ] /]/ 14:52, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

:Hello, Til. I hope you will understand that, because I only started substantial editing on Misplaced Pages after you were no longer officially with us, there is nothing personal about this. We've never had a chance to cross paths. But, on the other hand, because we have no working relationship, I hope you will not feel insulted that I don't have a real clear idea how much weight to give to your denial here. Another editor suggested the connection, and after digging around I found . . . well, what I've described on the sock page. If you'd like, I'll add a note to my sock investigation that you've responded on your talk page, so that the investigating admins can see whatever your side of the story looks like. ] (]) 15:16, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

:If checkuser is honest, I should be vindicated. Thinking about this more, there are other modern fringe groups all over the spectrum who incorporate claims about both Esau and Canaan's "modern identities", as disparate as the ] but they are all ultra fringe claims with no real basis in actual recorded history. (I admit to being the anon who reverted him when he first showed up at Canaan in June, from my old cell phone, because the edits were so terrible) I see he also edited "Amhara people", and if he is from the Horn which is quite possible then the number of weird ideas he could be potentially be pushing just doubled. Another possibility that occurred to me is that someone is trying to impersonate me to make me look worse, but just not doing a good job. ] /]/ 15:28, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

::In June he or she apparently reverted me there once while logged out, and I just traced it to Tel Aviv, note I am in the US ] /]/ 15:55, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

:::To, to summarize --

:::Alephb: I think you might be evading a community ban under the name CanCanqr.

:::Til: No, actually I've been evading a community ban by reverting things CanCanqr does.

:::Sometimes editing Misplaced Pages is boring. But sometimes it is absolutely fascinating. For the record, while I am all for Misplaced Pages policy, I don't consider it worth my while to try and suppress editing through bans in general. I am extremely interested in suppresses ''bad editing'' by people editing around bans. I'm also not interested in suppressing the inclusion of obscure medieval stuff about obscure biblical characters. I'd just like to see that kind of stuff laid out clearly for readers: here's what the Bible says, here's what premodern commentators say, here's what modern scholars mostly say, here's something a few modern scholars say, here's something fringe authors say. It's the poorly structured mixing in of randomly sourced premodern factoids that gets me. ] (]) 16:16, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
::::Good. I trust the English wp is in good hands since I am so limited in what little I can do or get away with. My current cell phone cant get on at all because the ISP is shared with "the dog and rapper vandal", so for now I can only post here. ] /]/ 16:46, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
], Doug accused me of being a lot of IPs at Talk:Esau, but I am not familiar with "Prof. Sarna of Brandeis" and was not edit warring to insert him at "Exodus" - which seems to attract a wide variety of volatile edit wars over the months, on a regular basis, as a most controversial topic. ] /]/ 19:34, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
:::::Til, I apologise for suspecting you were CanConqr1989. It looked that way to me, but I accept your denial. Just on a person note, why the hell do you bother with Misplaced Pages? Anything anyone writes can be reverted and overwritten almost instantly. It's a waste of time. Yes, mine too. ] (]) 23:41, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
Hi, PiCo. Well, you could ask anyone why they bother with Misplaced Pages for the same reason. And for the most part, I don't bother with English wp anymore, other than check my watchlist to see what's going on, as I mentioned my new cell phone is blocked on a range, so I would have trouble finding a way if I really felt I had to. But it is comforting to see that some of my best contributions that I penned even as long as 12 years ago are still largely intact, having stood the test of time, and possibly have informed countless people who weren't even alive yet when I wrote them. ] /]/ 23:53, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
:I would indeed say that to anyone. I's been around on Misplaced Pages a long time, probably too long. I have regrets: what I did on Table of Nations (or whatever it's called) for example - I thought I was doing the right thing, but it created a mess. Apologies for that. Ah well. Anyway, I wish you all the best. ] (]) 00:03, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

:An odd coincidence then, since in late July 2016 you were using that range to edit your talk page and Native American name controversy and then a month later another IP from the same range shows up editing articles you've edited before and attacking me - and I note that as an account you edited Madon mentioning the Monacan and the IP does also.
::There is a huge population of Monacan substrate in this geographic region, and a huge online community of ppl learning Monacan heritage so you must be wrongly assuming I am the only person in the world or in this area who would know a simple fact like "the Monacan did not speak Catawba" as I see that second IP correctly corrected at "Madoc". ] /]/ 10:47, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
