ANI discussion
There is currently a discussion at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Bishonen | talk 17:27, 23 March 2017 (UTC).
- Thank you :)--Certified Gangsta (talk) 02:34, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
Rollbacker userbox
Your user page shows a "This user has rollback rights on the English Misplaced Pages" userbox. That's not correct; the "Verify" link will show that you don't have those rights. I expect you'll agree that misrepresenting the rights you hold is not a good idea; thus I'd ask you to please remove that userbox. Huon (talk) 01:10, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
- Misrepresent? I've had rollback for almost 10 years now . Your failure to assume good faith appalls me.--Certified Gangsta (talk) 01:16, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
- No you don't. Your Rollback right was revoked on 15:29, 21 November 2008 by Friday.—CYBERPOWER (Around) 01:36, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
- This is what the "verify" link brings up. Unless "Cflm001" is an alternate account of yours, you don't have rollback rights. Personally I prefer this view which shows that you're extended confirmed but not a rollbacker. The user rights log shows you had those rights for not quite three months, back in 2008. If you want to add a "This user had rollback rights almost a decade ago" userbox, be my guest. Stating that you currently have those rights is incorrect. I'll also note that you accuse me of assuming bad faith despite me having verified - and having told you so - that you indeed do not hold those rights. I did not mean to imply that the misrepresentation is deliberate, and it doesn't matter to my point: You're not a rollbacker but your user page says you are. Please fix that. Hi
Regarding the names, discussion here. Thanks. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 05:13, 23 November 2017 (UTC)
Non-free file
Come on, Boney, please stop reverting User:Marchjuly. They're only applying Misplaced Pages's rules about non-free files in userspace. Bishonen | talk 11:22, 29 November 2017 (UTC).
- Sorry, Bishy, I wasn't sure why he was editing my userspace and saw him posting on WikiProject: China talkpage and figured someone there sent him to harass me. Apologize for the misunderstanding.--Certified Gangsta (talk) 11:42, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
Non-free image use
Hi Certified Gangsta. The licensing of each media file you see used on Misplaced Pages is determined by it copyright status and not every file you see on Misplaced Pages is licensed the same. Some files are licensed as public domain or licensed under a free licensed suitable for Misplaced Pages and these are often collectively referred to as "free images". Other files are licensed as non-free content because of their copyright status and these files are commonly referred to as "non-free". Non-free content use on Misplaced Pages is highly restricted and each use of such files must satisfy Misplaced Pages's non-free image use policy. One of these restrictions is WP:NFCC#9, which says that non-free content can only be used in the article namespace. For this reason and as explained in WP:UP#Non-free images, non-free content such as File:Coolio feat. L.V - Gangsta's Paradise.ogg, and File:The_Up_In_Smoke_Tour_cover.jpg cannot be used (i.e., displayed or activated) on your userpage, or any other pages in your user namespace. Perhaps you did not notice the edit sums I left when I removed the files; therefore, I'm posting this here to provide more explanation. If you have any questions about this feel free to ask them here, at WP:MCQ or at WT:NFC, but please don't re-add them again.
Finally, regarding your edit sum that removing the files was harassment, please carefully read through WP:UP#OWN and WP:HA#NOT because removing content which clearly is in violation of Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines from userpages is not considered harassment in any sense of the word, so you should be careful aboiut accusing others of such things. Just for reference, I am not a member of WikiProject China and only came across your userpage because the files you added to your userpages had been flagged for review by a bot as NFCC#9 violations. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:27, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
- Appreciate the thorough explanation I saw your post to WikiProject: China talkpage and jumped to the conclusion that someone there sent you to harass me (it happened a lot in the past). Apologize for the misunderstanding.--Certified Gangsta (talk) 11:43, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
- No harm no foul. Just for reference, I also posted the same post at WT:PHIL#Maoist Theory of National Struggle and Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Socialism#Maoist Theory of National Struggle and I am not a member of those WikiProjects either. It's unfortunate that you have been harassed in the past by other editors, and I wasn't trying to make light of such a thing in my previous post. For newbie editors, I sometimes do post a more explanatory talk page message like the one I added above, but in this case I assumed the edit sums I left were sufficient. Anyway, just try and check the licensing of any files you want add to your user pages; as long as they are not non-free, they should be fine to use. Live long and prosper. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:51, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
Please self-revert
Boney, I don't think you'll find this edit and this helpful — you may think those edits will support the questions you're asking of an arbcom candidate, but I'm pretty sure they'll be counterproductive, if anything. And as Heimstern says, the Ideogram case is really old. Please self-revert. If you're pissed off because Alex hasn't responded to your follow-up questions, I sympathise (I'm considering asking him about it, when I have a little more time), but this isn't the way. Bishonen | talk 13:34, 30 November 2017 (UTC).
- Done!--Certified Gangsta (talk) 14:12, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits.
