Tim Hughes is a Christian worship leader, and songwriter, who is currently Director of Worship at Holy Trinity Brompton. The son of an Anglican priest, Hughes attended Soul Survivor Watford Church in England, and was Head of Worship there, but recently moved to his new post at he moved to Holy Trinity Brompton, and has set up the worshipcentral project there, along with fellow worship leader Al Gordon.
Recording career
Hughes has released two albums: Here I Am to Worship (2001) and When Silence Falls (2004). His Dove Award-winning song Here I Am to Worship became a very popular worship anthem. Its popularity was helped by leading CCM artist Michael W. Smith who recorded the song for his album Worship Again a year after Hughes released his recording.
Recently Hughes has been recording a new album at Chapel Lane Studios in Hereford. Tracks include Out Of The Darkness, Happy Day, Centre Of It All, God Of Justice, Everything, The Highest And The Greatest and Clinging To The Cross.
Other
Hughes released his first book, Passion For Your Name in November (2003), in which he gives his advice on many issues, including worship leading and songwriting.
