Thanks for restoring the article. They are notable. See the sources, furthermore can you also restore Gforce Pakistan, as even the BBC website mentions them. I don't know how anyone can claim they are non-notable. Here is a article on one of the groups: - this is from the BBC website, so how can anyone claim they are non-notable. For example Pakistan Hackerz Club hacked the website of 'American Israel Public Affairs Committee' it was all over the news. There are 100s of articles on the net on Dr. Nuker also the founder of the hacker group, he was arrested and identified as Misbah Khan of Karachi by the FBI. So Again how is that non-notable. These are articles need to be restored as I can prove they are notable article, all sources have been cited. thanks. --] 18:07, 19 October 2006 (UTC) | Thanks for restoring the article. Sorry I don't agree, the groups are notable as they have been mention on various different websites. The July 7 bombers (which is irrelevant argument) were not mentioned on the news until after the event. These are groups which exist and hack websites. Recently for a university project I did a article on cyber terrorism, and some of the information was handy information added to wiki for the sake of knowledge. And then comes you deleting perfectly good articles, is your job devoted to spending ignorance on the net? if yes then you're doing a fine job with deletion of articles. Leave a new message. I will respond to you on your talk page unless you indicate otherwise.re: Deletion of my Article
Merope,
My name is Damian Wild. I am an international recording artist. A PROFESSSIONAL recording artist.
And for some reason when I try to post VALID REAL information on Misplaced Pages, you people delete my information as not being "notable". Why is it that far lesser information is able to be put on Wikipewdia with no problem??? And more importantly, what have I done to be treated so disrespectfully? Visit www.myspace.com/damianwild if you want a sample of my considerable talent and then tell me I am not notable.
This is extremely insulting. I am not posting a frivolous page about someone unknown. I have fans all over the world. I am a KNOWN professional dance music recording artist. And I deserve a vaild explanation of why my information keeps getting deleted off of this site. Please explain.
Damian
- Hey Damian. See your talk page for a third-party answer. --Dweller 10:42, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- btw Merope, hope you didn't mind me sticking my nose in. --Dweller 20:34, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Redirects
Yeah, a new editor (User:Uosoocn) has been tagging them all for deletion. To be honest, I decided that it was just as easy for me to delete them as remove the tag. I've already left a note on his page asking him to stop. --Robdurbar 17:15, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- Na, you're OK, I'll do it; it was me who was lazy and deleted them all ;) --Robdurbar 17:23, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Talk:Publicmind.com
In the middle of a discussion on gathering sources for the Publicmind.com stub-article, you erased the article. According to fellow article collaborator, you cited a "csd a7 -web", but erased the article so quickly, there was no time to rebuff or make the necessary assertions. --Zaurus 17:38, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Dear Merope,
I'd just like to make clear to you and to any other admins that my recent attempt at creating an article was sincere, and in no way akin to vandalism. I have the highest of respect for Misplaced Pages, I just wasn't aware of the policies regarding these types of articles. Of course I will abide by them. I hope that you can accept my apologies for my mistake in trying to create the article, and I hope that you'll accept the fact that my respect for Misplaced Pages is genuine.
All the best,
Loomis 18:50, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
restore the article
Yes I'd appreciate it restored to my namespace. But I fail to see how I can get any more "credible" than by stating facts that I myself know are true (seeing as how I have been involved with the forum in question since the day it was created) and the fact that I had both the current and past administrators of the forum assisting me with the details. Will it make a difference if I actually say this at the end of my article?

I was just about to prod it... I guess you geleted it under CSD G13 - articles consisting entirely of someone's homework. - CrazyRussian talk/email 15:52, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Recent arrival
I'm a recent arrival to the new pages patrol and was wondering if you could give me some advice. Is there any point in me putting 'nonsense' or 'db-empty' tabs on articles which have been created in the past five minutes or will an admin come along and do the job before a tab has even been put on? Only I notice that on alot of occasions no sooner have I clicked to edit the article to place a 'speedy delete' notice than it has already been deleted! Thanks--Edchilvers 17:50, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

I do not know if you've noticed yet, but this article has been recreated. I saw that you deleted it less than 10 minutes ago, so I thought you might like a heads up. ---Charles 17:57, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! In the future, please tag the article with the original deletion criterion; {{db-repost}} is for articles that have gone through a deletion process (like AfD). It's not a terribly big deal since I zapped it anyway, but it's something you might want to keep in mind. -- Merope 17:59, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, I thought {{db-repost}} applied to any article that had been deleted, not just those that had gone through AfD. Thanks for the information. ---Charles 18:05, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- It's cool, everyone makes that mistake. (Yours truly included!) -- Merope 18:06, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism
Is it just my perception or has there been an extraordinarily large amount of vandalism and nonsense today? ---Charles 18:36, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- No, I think you're right. Usually I do something else besides New Page Patrol, but not today. I've had my userpage vandalized four or five times today, and there's just a constant stream of crap being created. It's not even a full moon! But I did get to delete an article that asked if I was sexy, so I'm in a fairly good mood about it. -- Merope 18:40, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I suppose there are much worse questions one could be asked. I was left a message sometime in the last 24 hours asking if I do anything else with my time other than look for vandalism on Misplaced Pages. As it happens, I do (I actually just finished a show this past weekend, for example), and I am spending less time on Misplaced Pages lately than, say, a month ago. Still, I am proud of the garbage I have deleted, and make no apology for the time I spend here. ---Charles 18:47, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Here is the highly coveted
which you did while I was trying to figure out how to alert an admin. Carptrash 20:58, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the lesson in reverting. I do a fair amount a vandal patroling already, but I typically just cut out the offending bits. The Pearl Buck was different in that there was text missing. But I shall be trying out my new technique shortly. Carptrash 14:03, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well that took all of ____ minutes. Sacrifice, one of the articles on my watchlist needed help, so ZAP - 'tis done. And I feel good about actually learning something. life IS good. Carptrash 14:11, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
A plea from someone who was "just having fun"
Hello, could you please tell what it was of mine that you deleted and why? If it was the page 'Dominic Clementson'then I apologise for causing any offence but it was meant as harmless fun. It was not editing anyone else work and was actually all true. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DuncanDisorderly (talk • contribs)
Thank-you for getting back to me. I'd just like to add that I wouldn't dream of using Misplaced Pages for 'taking the piss' out of my friends (what kind of friend would that make me?) The article was about me. I even listed my various noms de plume in the article so one could see I had written it. It's a strange place where you can't poke fun at yourself. However, I do understand your concerns about keeping Misplaced Pages of a high standard. If you check my other posts you will see that they are serious, well researched and inoffensive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DuncanDisorderly (talk • contribs)
Yes, I didn't realise that I had a user page. Apologies for that. I guess I should have read the guidelines more closely. Anyway, how does one become an administrator? — Preceding unsigned comment added by DuncanDisorderly (talk • contribs)

RE: Blocking Vandals
Hi thanks for following my comment up. I see your point, that they can't destroy stuff. You are right about other users because I use these computers and am a big fan of wikipedia. I think it's great. And I'll look into the vandalism part too, Thanks Abishai | Talk | 01:17, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Beat me
I was about to add that db tag to Timmay with the summary "db, timmay is non-notable he is the not-notablest person at wikipedia and mitchel isn't notable either" and then I find out I wasted all those ten seconds replacing words for nothing. I really need to stop writing flippant db edit summaries on speedy delete candidate articles. –– Lid 15:24, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

I find it hard to believe you've been an admin for just a bit less than 2 weeks, judging by all of the above. Excellent work (I'm very glad I switched to support on your RfA)! riana_dzasta 15:34, 18 October 2006 (UTC) |
- All the moanings and groanings above, yes. :p Your... supervisor? That's an interesting one. The vandal-squishing is OK, cooling down a little now though... I think. Probably about time for this squisher to get to bed (if I'm called a twat one more time, I'll bite someone). riana_dzasta 15:38, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Deletion
Hi- I tried to provide an historical account of our company. The reason for this is that there are other companies with the same name, and I wanted to create something online that people can go to, to research the differences, and determine which one we are. I don't consider this advertising, but research. Can you please let me know if this is acceptable? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Solderguy (talk • contribs)
You deleted all the information before I even had ten minutes to fix it..
You also didn't give me a real response before you deleted it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul M. (talk • contribs)

Ha! I'm in New York - the rest of them around me observe Daylight Savings (including my husband, who tries unsuccessfully to convince me that it gets dark too early when we turn the clocks back) - this is my own personal grievance against the farmers who apparently have tremendous power in this world and have convinced most of the country to go with DST. As I've pointed out elsewhere, we're not farmers here! I hate DST. I go along kicking and screaming, looking forward to the last weekend of October. I just didn't think the wiki tag about loathing it was strong enough. In my heart I don't observe it. Glad to meet a fellow traveller! (Also good to know an admin whose isn't ruled by testosterone as some seem to be...) Nice to meetcha and thanks again Tvoz 03:45, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
